JOB OBJECTIVES

The ESD Officer — is responsible for coordinating and executing economic security desk operations. This includes monitoring, tracking, and investigating suspected fraud cases, working collaboratively with security, Debt Collection, legal, and other departments to ensure timely resolution. The ESD Officer supports the Head of ESD (E.A) in unlamenting country-specific initiatives, provides regular updates on case trends, and ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, thereby helping to minimize risks and protect the organization's financial and operational integrity.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

Fraud & Risk Management

  • Lead fraud investigations and prepare detailed reports with recommendations.
  • Conduct security risk assessments and internal audits to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct background checks to ensure integrity in recruitment and operations.
  • Train staff on fraud awareness and how to identify suspicious characters.


Security Operations

  • Monitor and manage access control systems, visitor management systems, and entry points.
  • Respond promptly to security incidents and threats, ensuring effective resolution.
  • Implement and oversee security measures to safeguard premises, assets, and personnel.
  • Assist Debt Collection in hard cases


Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Recruit, train, and supervise security officers, ensuring professionalism and discipline.
  • Assign duties, monitor performance, and conduct appraisals to maintain a high performing security team.


Stakeholder Engagement

  • Coordinate with external security service providers to ensure quality and reliability of services.
  • Liaise with relevant security agencies for support, compliance, and collaboration. Any other duty that might be assigned by management

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Security Management, Criminology, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, investigation and organizational skills.
  • Previous experience in the disciplined forces (police) with strong Fraud and Investigation focus will be an added advantage.
  • Previous working experience in a Financial Institution/ Knowledge of Banking and Financial fraud and crimes will be an added advantage.
  • Flexibility to work several weeks in the field and to travel to different regions Proactive problem resolution finding and active information sharing
  • Fluent in English and Swahili
  •  Loyalty and integrity
