What we are looking for

We’re seeking an experienced and results-driven sales leader to join our team as a Hotspot Sales Manager. This critical role will drive revenue growth, lead a team of Reseller Account Specialists, and implement strategies to expand our reseller and hotspot network within the Western Cape.

About the role

The hotspot Sales Manager will be responsible for achieving revenue targets by leading a team of Reseller Account Specialists, developing sales strategies to expand out Hotspot offerings to other market segments including large partnerships, government, and community hubs. This middle management position emphasises revenue generation, strategic execution, performance management, and operational excellence within a defined region.

What you will be doing

  • Sales and sales management:
  • Lead the Hotspot Sales Key Account team to manage existing key accounts and resellers whilst acquiring new resellers.
  • Develop and manage the sales funnel with the Reseller Specialists whilst managing the key account calling and service plan to ensure hotspots are deployed in key areas whilst managing the existing reseller base, ensuring 90% active voucher sales and hotspot customer usage.
  • Drive brand recognition through hotspot activations, product offerings and financial growth.
  • Lead and manage Hotspot Sales Key account sales teams and external agents to achieve sales and revenue targets.
  • Meet monthly and yearly performance requirements and sales targets as budgeted.
  • Identifying and closing large business opportunities for hotspot deployments.
  • Develop strategies to ensure revenue leakage is curtailed whilst ensuring ongoing revenue generation from existing and new resellers and hotspots.
  • Grow the local base through new placements and base maintenance.
  • Data-driven decision processing:
  • Analyse regional sales data to identify trends and areas of improvement.
  • Develop actionable insights from performance metrics to guide decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Strategic execution:
  • Have a deep bias for action and delivery to drive strategic growth plans.
  • Implement data-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Team management:
  • Lead and support Reseller Account Specialists, ensuring they’re motivated, productive and exceeding performance targets.

  • Participate in growing the sales team through recruitment, training and mentoring.
  • Set, review and constantly review sales performance, and plan strategies to ensure targets are met.

  • Attend activations, sales campaigns and community events to ensure visibility and provide ongoing support to the team.
  • Foster strong relationships with customers, resellers and stakeholders.
  • Operational excellence:
  • Ensure all operational processes are efficient and align with company standards.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement within operational processes.

Minimum requirements (qualifications, skills and experience, other)

  • 5+ years of sales management experience within the telecommunications or reseller / merchant environment specifically with in the South African township market.
  • 3+ years of team management of sales and/or agent teams at a regional level.
  • Sales and/or leadership diploma through a reputable tertiary institution.
  • Proven experience in a middle management leadership role within sales management or a related field.
  • Strong team leadership and supervisory skills.
  • In-depth understanding of sales strategies and performance metrics.
  • In-depth understanding of the South African township economy and how to deploy offerings that scale within these aspirational communities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good understanding of marketing and operational processes.
  • Own reliable transport and a valid driver’s license (non-negotiable)
  • Experience in community engagement and a commitment to fostering strong relationships within represented communities.
  • Proficient in using computer applications for reporting and communication.
