What we are looking for

A strategic, detail-oriented, and hands-on Senior Finance Manager to lead and elevate our finance function. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical thinker with a proven track record of driving financial performance, improving internal processes, and providing clear, actionable insights to leadership.

About the role

The Senior Finance Manager reports to the Chief Financial Officer and plays a key leadership role in overseeing the financial health and strategy of the business. This position is responsible for managing financial planning and analysis, budgeting, reporting, and compliance. It supports executive decision-making through accurate financial insights, while ensuring strong internal controls and adherence to relevant accounting standards. The role typically includes managing a finance team, liaising with auditors and tax advisors, and collaborating cross-functionally to drive efficiency and profitability.

What you will be doing

Manage day-to-day financial operations including payment authorisations and billing, and escalate any matters of concern in a timely manner.

Monthly review and management of the Company’s Accounts Receivable and Payable, employee tax and tax compliance, and employee benefits calculations including but not limited to reconciliations, internal accounting, billing, debtors, and creditors.

Manage and maintain all financial statements and reports.

Participate in the Company’s strategic and operational planning discussions to support management and executives with financial insights.

Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting responsibilities.

Manage the preparation and development of the Company’s budget.

Develop, implement, and manage department budgets, mandates, and cost centres (OPEX and CAPEX).

Conduct regular reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities and efforts.

Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasting and projections.

Ensure all financial accounting policies are adhered to and the Company is compliant.

Support investor reporting, fundraising efforts, and financial due diligence as required.

Implement KPIs and monitor the Finance team’s performance.

Partner cross-functionally with operations, HR, and other departments to align financial strategies with company objectives.

Minimum requirements (qualifications, skills and experience, other)

Qualified CA (SA), CIMA, BCom Hons in Accounting or equivalent.

6+ years experience in a Senior Finance Manager role with strong technical expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance.

Experience working in the IT or ITC Industry will be an advantage or any fast-paced, evolving environment.

Prior experience leading a full financial management function and department.

Deep knowledge of IFRS, tax regulations, and financial controls, and ideally experience working within or alongside external auditors.

Understand B-BBEE compliance and accounting.

Able to lead and be hands-on with day-to-day finance activities, reporting, and data.

Advanced computer literacy skills (MS Office, financial management software, and systems).

Highly competent in MS Excel / Google Sheets including financial modeling skills.

Analytical and able to interrogate figures and trends.

Attention to detail.

Experience in scale-ups will be an added advantage.

Self-starter with a strong work ethic and a sense of ownership and accountability.

Flexible and able to meet the needs of the Company.
