About the role

The NOC Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of our Network Operations Centre (NOC) and ensure our network infrastructure runs smoothly. In this role, you will play a key part in monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, and assisting in improving the overall network service.

What you will be doing

  • NOC Operations: Oversee the daily activities of the NOC to ensure the network is operating smoothly.
  • Network Monitoring: Use monitoring tools to identify and resolve network issues quickly to reduce downtime.
  • Incident Management: Respond to incidents such as network outages and performance issues, working with the team to resolve them.
  • Capacity Planning: Monitor network traffic and performance to anticipate future growth and help plan upgrades or changes.
  • Performance Improvement: Look for opportunities to optimize the network for better efficiency and reliability.
  • Security: Help maintain network security to protect both the infrastructure and customer data.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain documentation for network configurations and report on network status and incidents.
  • Team Support: Supervise and support NOC technicians, encouraging teamwork and continuous improvement.

Minimum requirements (qualifications, skills and experience, other)

  • Education: A relevant degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science, or a similar field is preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in a similar NOC or technical support role.
  • Technical Skills: Basic understanding of networking principles and familiarity with network equipment like routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Monitoring Tools: Experience with basic network monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds, or similar).
  • Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage network issues effectively.
  • Security Awareness: Basic understanding of network security principles.
  • Communication: Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team setting.
  • Adaptability: A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures as the industry evolves.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or similar.
  • Previous experience working with wireless technologies (e.g., Mikrotik, Ubiquity).
