We are looking for a Data Engineer who would help build a strong central Business Intelligence team. The person will report to and work in close cooperation with the Head of BI and the COO as well as other functions across the organization.

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and architectures that enable efficient data collection, storage, and processing. Your work will be critical in ensuring smooth operations for the rest of the team and by extension, the whole organization.

The role can be based in Riga, Tallinn, Ceuta, Gibraltar or Malta. Hybrid working is possible.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams in business and platform to understand data requirements and architecting solutions that support business needs.
  • Designing and developing scalable and reliable data pipelines, ETL processes, and data workflows to extract, transform, and load large volumes of data from diverse sources.
  • Building and maintaining databases, ensuring data integrity, quality, and security.
  • Optimizing and performance-tuning existing data infrastructure to enhance efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
  • Implementing best practices for data governance, data modeling, and version control to maintain high data quality standards.
  • Working closely with Data Analysts, Platform Development, Project Management, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless access to data and facilitate analytics initiatives.
  • Staying updated with emerging technologies and trends in data engineering to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in data engineering or related roles within a fast-paced environment, preferably in the iGaming or similar industry.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, and experience with ETL tools and frameworks.
  • Strong expertise in database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) and data warehousing solutions (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of data modeling, schema design, and data integration methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
