Project Manager (Business Intelligence)

A seasoned Project Manager with experience in business intelligence projects joined our Cape Town based team to drive data-driven decision-making and improve the overall business intelligence capabilities of the Company.

The Project Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of business intelligence projects within the Company and involves defining projects scope, objectives, and deliverables, coordinating with cross-functional teams, managing the Data Analysts and for ensuring BI projects are executed on time and within the budget.  

• Define project objectives, scope, and key performance indicators.
• Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets.
• Establish clear communication channels with stakeholders.
• Lead and manage the Business Intelligence team, delegate tasks, set priorities, and evaluate quality, completeness and accuracy of data driven projects.
• Lead data analysis efforts to extract meaningful insights from large datasets and use visualisation tools and techniques to create reports and dashboards that facilitate decision-making.
• Oversee the collection and integration of data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
• Monitor project progress, coordinate data collections, analysis, and reporting activities.
• Implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data security, compliance with regulations, and data quality standards. 
• Provide regular project status updates and reports to stakeholders and executives, including key insights and recommendations.
• Evaluate and recommend BI tools, technologies, and platforms that can enhance the organisation’s BI capabilities.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, data science, statistics, or related field.
• Project management certification (PMP, Prince2, etc.).
• Proven experience as a Project Manager in the field of Business Intelligence or Data Analytics.
• Strong knowledge of business intelligence concepts, tools, and technologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
