About the role

TooMuchWifi is seeking a skilled and experienced Network Infrastructure Supervisor to oversee the maintenance, performance, and hardware installations of our network highsites. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of network technicians, ensuring the reliability and uptime of highsite installations, and collaborating with other departments to enhance overall network performance. This role requires a strong technical background in network infrastructure, exceptional leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.

What you will be doing

Team Leadership & Management:

  • Supervise and lead a team of network technicians, ensuring efficient operations, maintenance, and hardware installations at TooMuchWifi’s network highsites.
  • Assign tasks, schedule maintenance activities, and monitor team performance to ensure high standards of service delivery.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.

Highsite Operations, Maintenance, & Hardware Installations:

  • Oversee the daily operation of network highsites, including towers, antennas, power systems, and related equipment.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Lead the installation and configuration of network hardware, including routers, switches, antennas, and other critical components.
  • Ensure that all hardware installations are completed to company standards and in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Monitor network performance metrics, promptly addressing any issues related to signal quality, coverage, or equipment malfunctions.
  • Ensure all highsites comply with TooMuchWifi’s operational standards, as well as local and national regulations.

Technical Support & Problem Solving:

  • Provide expert technical support to technicians in diagnosing and resolving complex network issues.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to plan and implement network upgrades, expansions, new highsite installations, and hardware upgrades.
  • Respond to emergency situations, coordinating rapid response teams to address network outages or critical equipment failures.

Coordination & Reporting:

  • Act as the primary point of contact between the highsite operations team and other departments, including engineering, IT, and customer support.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on highsite performance, maintenance activities, hardware installations, and overall network health to senior management.
  • Manage the inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for the maintenance, repair, and installation of network hardware.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures during all highsite operations and hardware installations.
  • Conduct regular safety training sessions and drills to ensure the team is prepared for any emergencies.
  • Ensure all operations are compliant with industry standards, environmental regulations, and TooMuchWifi’s internal policies.

Minimum requirements (qualifications, skills and experience, other)

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant industry certifications, such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.
  • Tower climbing certification is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in network operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Extensive experience with highsite operations, including tower climbing, maintenance, hardware installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
  • Advanced technical skills in network infrastructure, including knowledge of RF, microwave, and fiber optic systems.
  • Proven experience in network hardware installation and configuration.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle complex technical challenges.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.
  • Familiarity with network management tools and software.
  • A solid understanding of safety standards and regulations in the telecommunications industry.


Work Environment

  • The role requires regular travel to highsite locations, often involving work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
  • Candidates must be available for on-call duties to respond to network emergencies outside of regular working hours.
