About the role

As the Senior Manager of Network Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of our wireless internet network infrastructure. You will lead a team of network engineers and technicians, ensuring that our network operates at peak performance, meets service level agreements (SLAs), and exceeds customer expectations.

What you will be doing

Network Monitoring and Management

  • Implement and manage network monitoring systems to proactively monitor network performance, identify potential issues, and ensure optimal uptime and availability.

Incident Response and Resolution

  • Develop and enforce incident response procedures to promptly address network outages, performance degradation, and service interruptions, minimizing impact on customers and business operations.

Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis

  • Lead troubleshooting efforts to diagnose and resolve complex network issues, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Change Management

  • Establish and enforce change management processes to ensure that network changes are planned, documented, and implemented in a controlled manner, minimizing risk and service disruption.

Capacity Planning and Optimization

  • Conduct capacity planning assessments to forecast network growth and scalability requirements, implementing optimization strategies to maximize network efficiency and resource utilization.

Vendor and Service Provider Management

  • Manage relationships with equipment vendors, service providers, and third-party contractors, ensuring timely delivery of services, adherence to SLAs, and resolution of issues.

Performance Metrics and Reporting

  • Develop and maintain performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track network performance, analyze trends, and identify areas for improvement.

Compliance and Security

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices for network security, data protection, and privacy, implementing controls and safeguards as necessary.

Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity

  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to mitigate the impact of network disruptions and ensure rapid restoration of services.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to network operations teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.

High-site Security

  • Develop innovative ways of securing our network equipment on site and partnering with stakeholders who can assist in limiting exposure to vandalism and theft.

NOC Management

  • Provide management for a 24 Hours rotational NOC and field technicians. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in network operations and telecommunications, with a focus on wireless internet services.
  • Strong technical expertise in wireless networking technologies, including Wi-Fi, LTE, 5G, point-to-point, and point-to-multipoint systems.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing and motivating high-performing teams, driving operational excellence and service delivery.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools, incident management systems, and performance analysis platforms.
  • Proficiency in network protocols, routing and switching, IP addressing, subnetting, VLANs, and firewall configurations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices for network operations, security, and compliance.
