B737 Technical Pilot (Internal)

MAIN DUTIES

The OM-A describes the full area of responsibility, however here are some of the highlights:

  • Report to the respective chief pilot for the fleet.
  • In close cooperation with technical department evaluate revisions of type related documentation, coming from Manufacturers and other regulating authorities, to incorporate it in the company operational documentation.
  • Ensure enough MCF A and B qualified pilots and maintain Form 37.
  • Assist with selecting crews for demo, technical ferry flights and brief the respective crews when required.
  • Ensure the MCF manual is maintained and compliant with the latest regulations and standards from the OEM.
  • Conduct or delegate MCF flights when requested by technical department after an aircraft has undergone defined maintenance, overhaul work, repairs, or adjustments or for its renewal of the certificate of airworthiness.
  • Ensure that MCF flights are conducted in accordance with applicable regulations and standards of SmartLynx IOSA ORG 1.3.1 (ii).
  • Has authority to make decisions regarding the safety and/or security of aircraft operations, such as grounding aircrafts; IOSA ORG 1.3.1 (i).
  • Check with engineering Operation Engineering Bulletins validity, ADs and SBs, if valid gives order to update aircraft documents.
  • Liaise with Engineering and aircraft manufacturer on general operational technical matters.
  • Responsible for the ensuring the MEL is up to date and correctly reflecting the installed systems on each aircraft ORO.MLR.105(a)
  • Share technical information required for maintaining the OM-A, OM-B and checklists
  • Liaise with Training Department on technical changes affecting training.
  • Liaise with the Cabin Department on technical changes affecting cabin duties.
  • Support the investigations of technical problems, incidents and accidents.
  • Inform when required manufacturer about aircraft de-registration for necessary aircraft documentation update in coordination with Flight Support.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid EASA Member State issued ATPL(A) license
  • Valid ME/IR, including PBN qualification
  • Current B737 Type Rating
  • Minimum ICAO Level 4 of English language proficiency
  • Valid EASA Member State issued Class 1 Medical Certificate
  • EU-passport or permit to work in Europe
  • Availability to start early March 2024 will be regarded as advantage


The Technical Pilot is a highly experienced pilot on the type and must have a good knowledge of Service Bulleting, AMM and the AFM.

The Technical Pilot follows Boeing communications channels, and EASA regulations to proactively to advice on possible changes affecting the current fleet. Posses outstanding knowledge of the MMEL and the development and maintenance of the MEL. The Technical Pilot must be able to identify safety risks, have an extremely good aircraft knowledge and good communication skills.
