Resident Engineer - Shannon Airport

TOBIN, an AtkinsRéalis Company, has an exciting opportunity for a Resident Engineer to join our Building & Infrastructure Division on a high-profile project at Shannon Airport. This contract offers the potential for extension and future involvement in projects at the same location.

Location: Shannon Airport, Shannon, Co. Clare

Contract: Fixed-term, 12 months (with potential extension)

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm

• 5–10 years’ experience in a similar role
• Strong background in civil and building projects, including complex facades
• Ability to monitor and record building works for compliance with requirements and statutory approvals
• Knowledge of Building Control Amendment Regulations (advantageous)
• Experience with construction programmes, phasing, sequencing, and coordination with client operations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in airport or live operational environments (advantageous)

• Act as the on-site representative, ensuring works are constructed as designed and instructed
• Monitor materials, testing, and compliance with specifications
• Report regularly to the Employer’s Representative on progress, changes, and site conditions
• Observe implementation of instructions and contractor performance
• Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and third-party stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations
• Maintain detailed site records, including daily diaries, progress reports, and photographs
• Assess and report on payment applications and attend measurement meetings
• Prepare draft minutes of site meetings and liaise on contractual claims/disputes
• Be available for occasional night or weekend work as required
