Senior Civil Engineer (Building & Infrastructure Division)

TOBIN, an AtkinsRéalis Company, is growing, and our Building & Infrastructure division is delivering some of the most exciting civil engineering projects across Ireland. We’re now looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Dublin office and play a key role in shaping impactful projects across residential, healthcare, education and sports sectors.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading multidisciplinary project teams, building strong client relationships, and driving high‑quality project delivery from concept to completion.

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will take ownership of a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects and ensure they are delivered to the highest technical, commercial and quality standards.

• Lead the planning, programming and resource allocation of civil engineering projects in collaboration with the Operations Director.
• Manage project delivery from early scoping through to handover, ensuring timelines, budgets and client expectations are met.
• Oversee compliance with all relevant Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety standards (QMS/EMS/OHSAS).
• Ensure projects meet all statutory and regulatory obligations, including BCAR and Health & Safety requirements.
• Manage project finances, including cash flow, invoicing schedules, issuing invoices and managing project debtors.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, maintaining clear communication and ensuring alignment across all project stages.
• Develop detailed project briefs, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and secure client agreement on scope and deliverables.
• Prepare and maintain project programmes in collaboration with the client.
• Provide clear direction and support to project team members and cross‑divisional collaborators.
• Manage the appointment and coordination of sub‑consultants in line with company procedures.
• Ensure that all designs are produced by qualified personnel and independently reviewed prior to client issue.
• Deliver exactly what the client requires — no more, no less — with a focus on value, efficiency and technical excellence.

• Level 8 qualification in Engineering (or equivalent).
• Chartered Membership of Engineers Ireland.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• A solid understanding of consultancy and construction contracts, including familiarity with the Public Works Management Framework.
• Experience using project management systems and a proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
