Due to continued growth and major project wins, TOBIN is seeking Senior Engineers to join our Water & Utilities Division in Galway, Castlebar, Limerick or Dublin. This is an exciting opportunity to take a leadership role in delivering complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Ireland.

About the role:

As a Senior Engineer, you will provide technical leadership, manage project teams, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality engineering solutions. You will work closely with clients, authorities, and contractors while mentoring junior engineers and supporting strategic goals.

What we're looking for:

Education & Professional Status:


  • Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Chartered Membership of Engineers Ireland (essential)


Experience:


  • Minimum 10–15 years’ experience in civil engineering, ideally with a focus on water and utilities
  • Proven track record in project delivery, design coordination, and client management


Technical Expertise:


  • Strong knowledge of water and wastewater systems, drainage, and infrastructure design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and familiarity with BIM tools (Revit, NavisWorks)
  • Working knowledge of software such as Civil 3D, Causeway, Microsoft Project, and GIS tools
  • Excellent understanding of Irish Building Regulations, Eurocodes, and Health & Safety legislation

Leadership Skills:


  • Ability to manage project teams and mentor junior engineers
  • Strong communication and client relationship management skills
  • Experience in recruitment, onboarding, and team performance management is desirable


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate civil and structural engineering design works and associated documentation
  • Review and approve designs prepared by junior engineers and project teams
  • Liaise with clients, Uisce Éireann, TII, and local authorities for approvals and submissions
  • Oversee procurement, tender assessments, and contract administration
  • Conduct site inspections and prepare detailed engineering reports
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables
  • Drive compliance with quality assurance procedures and ISO standards
  • Support business development and maintain strong client relationships
  • Stay up to date with industry innovations and best practices
