Now, we’re looking for a visionary Energy Practice Lead to shape the next chapter of Ireland’s energy transition. This is a senior leadership role at Associate Director level, reporting directly to the TOBIN Executive team. 

About the role:

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of Ireland’s energy infrastructure and lead a team driving innovation in renewable energy, grid transformation, and decarbonisation projects. You will work across major energy projects, collaborate with internal divisions, and build strong client relationships.

What we're looking for:

Education & Professional Status:


  • Level 8 Honours Degree (preferably in Electrical Engineering)
  • Chartered Membership of Engineers Ireland or equivalent preferred


Experience:



  • Minimum 15 years post-qualification experience in energy infrastructure
  • Proven senior leadership and project management experience
  • Expertise in major energy projects such as wind farms and high-voltage power grids
  • Strong knowledge of energy regulation and grid infrastructure in Ireland
  • Previous experience with EirGrid, ESB, or similar organisations highly desirable
  • Design or design management experience as a consultant desirable
  • Relevant International experience welcomed


Key Responsibilities:

  • Interface for existing partners and clients leading projects through to commissioning 
  • Collaborate with other TOBIN disciplines such as Environmental, Planning, Civil and Structural Engineering, Health and safety/PSDP, BIM/CAD, QS and Contract Administration. 
  • Pursue new opportunities in renewable energy (wind, solar, hydrogen, hydro, gas, biogas), grid transformation and decarbonisation and transmission system interconnectors. 
  • Demonstrate the highest levels of safety and integrity 
  • Develop and mentor specialist teams seeking innovation and continuous improvement 
  • Be accountable for project performance and excellence in technical delivery 
  • Live TOBIN values including sustainability, safety and CPD 
  • Oversee and verify electrical designs and studies 


Location & Flexibility:

  • Hybrid working policy: up to 3 days remote per week
  • Base location: Dublin, Castlebar, Galway, Limerick, or Sligo
  • Some travel required across TOBIN offices and for client/project meetings
  • Flexible working hours available
