This position requires on-site work from one of our offices in Riga, Budva, or Barcelona.
We are looking for a Network Security Specialist to take full ownership of our network security infrastructure and operations. In this role, you will design, implement, monitor, and optimize network security systems across the organization to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our corporate and production environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in network protocols, security models, Next Generation firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS/NTA solutions, full range of network-based hackers techniques and related security tools and features, along with a proactive mindset for identifying and mitigating network threats in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience managing network security infrastructure, including Next Generation firewalls, Web Application firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network monitoring tools.
- Expertise in securing complex network environments, including corporate and production infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, etc.), network segmentation, and best practices for secure network architecture.
- Experience with modern firewall platforms (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco Firepower, Fortinet) and cloud-native security tools.
- Ability to monitor, analyze, and respond to network security incidents, leveraging tools such as SIEMs and threat intelligence platforms.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting network issues and identifying vulnerabilities through network assessments and security scanning.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR) and network security-related controls.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on problem-solving, root cause analysis, and implementing preventive measures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Network Engineering, or a related field.
WOULD BE AN ADVANTAGE
- Industry or vendor certifications such as CCNP Security, Palo Alto PCNSE, Fortinet NSE4..
- Experience with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and their network security controls.
- Hands-on experience with Zero Trust frameworks and network micro-segmentation strategies.
- Proficiency in automating network security processes using scripting tools (e.g., Python, Bash, or Terraform).
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and secure SD-WAN solutions.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in network security or related roles.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Network security design and implementation:
- Develop and implement secure network architectures that align with organizational goals and security standards.
- Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS/NTA, and network access controls to protect corporate and production networks.
- Design and enforce network segmentation and network access control to minimize attack surfaces and prevent lateral movement.
- Monitoring and incident response:
- Continuously monitor network traffic for anomalies, potential threats, or unauthorized access using SIEM and network monitoring tools.
- Investigate and respond to network security incidents, ensuring timely mitigation and root cause analysis.
- Implement threat intelligence feeds and automated alerts to proactively detect and counteract potential attacks.
- Network vulnerability management:
- Conduct regular network security assessments to identify vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with other teams to address issues, implement fixes, monitor results, and track progress.
- Keep documentation of identified risks and mitigation steps up to date.
- Supplier and tools management:
- Manage relationships with network security vendors and service suppliers, ensuring tools and solutions meet performance and security requirements.
- Evaluate and propose new technologies or tools to enhance network security capabilities.
- Continuous improvement and optimization:
- Regularly review network security policies, configurations, and controls to ensure alignment with best practices.
- Optimize system performance while maintaining robust security across all network layers.
- Automate repetitive network security tasks where applicable to improve efficiency.
- Compliance and reporting:
- Ensure the network infrastructure meets compliance requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR, NIST).
- Generate periodic reports on network security status, incidents, and key metrics for leadership and stakeholders.
