Role & Responsibilities

Within the WPP Unite structure Barrows is seeking a dynamic Director, Shopper Marketing Execution who is passionate about delivering operational excellence. The operations team plays a critical role in ensuring seamless execution of shopper marketing campaigns and studio operations. They are responsible for coordinating logistics, managing timelines, and optimizing workflows to ensure that shopper executions are delivered on time and within budget. This team collaborates closely with creative, strategy, and client services teams to align resources and streamline processes, enhancing the overall efficiency of project delivery. Additionally, they oversee studio operations, ensuring that all necessary tools and environments are in place for creative teams to thrive. The team not only supports the execution of effective marketing strategies but also fosters an environment conducive to innovation and collaboration.


In addition to bringing a killer attitude and energy, this individual must be able to:


  • Lead the strategic planning, execution, and optimization of shopper marketing initiatives across Unilever brands, ensuring operational excellence and strong partnerships with key retail accounts.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project scopes in collaboration with Account Management teams, aligning with client objectives and KPIs.
  • Drive the planning and execution of in-store displays, shopper tactics, and activations in key retail environments, ensuring high-quality implementation.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with key retail accounts' media business units (e.g., Walmart Connect, Target Roundel, Kroger Precision Marketing) to execute programs.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effective production and delivery of shopper marketing materials, POP displays, and in-store activations.
  • Manage project schedules, ensuring all key milestones are met, risks are mitigated, and programs are delivered on time.
  • Lead the development and management of project estimates, utilizing historical data and industry benchmarks for financial accuracy.
  • Implement effective change control processes to manage scope creep and ensure budget compliance.
  • Act as the billing liaison, overseeing budget management, conducting weekly billing meetings, and addressing financial issues with Client Leadership teams.
  • Mentor and lead the in-store operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration across all levels.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics across all initiatives, providing strategic recommendations for optimization and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in shopper marketing, in-store operations, or trade marketing, ideally within a CPG or retail environment.
  • Proven expertise in project management, including scope development, scheduling, and budget control.
  • Strong track record in managing vendor relationships and leading cross-functional teams to execute shopper marketing initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success in driving operational efficiencies and process optimization within marketing functions.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage complex projects and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field.
  • Ability to work in the office 3 days a week.



Salary & Benefits

The salary range for this role is $130,000 to $175,000*

*exact compensation will be determined based on individual experience
