The Role

This role encompasses the following responsibilities:


  • Implementation and management of inspection and certification control plans.
  • Supporting the project management team with contract reviews, PPAP’s, FAIR’s and customer audits/visits.
  • In process production part approval using visual and dimensional inspection of components manufactured in-house.

·      Goods-inwards inspection of a variety of components to the relevant engineering drawings ensuring that all requirements are met.

  • Final inspection of completed antennas or assemblies including signoff.
  • Manufacturing support to the production areas with reference to quality issues.
  • Ensuring procedures, policies, work instruction, forms etc are implemented, maintained and updated where appropriate.
  • Measurement of systems evaluation.
  • Actively support the business’s QMS to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certification
  • Accomplishment of shop floor product sample and process audits to recognised schedule.
  • Managing of non-conformances including manufacturing issues, supplier rejections and customer complaints.
  • Manage the process for Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) obtaining sign-off, checking the scope/impact of the changes, and updating relevant documentation on Epicor.
  • Support Engineering and Production by checking manufacturing documentation packs and Epicor BOMs are correct and sufficient for all manufacturing, assembly, validation, verification, and formal quality processes prior to release for production.


Key Competencies

·      Previous work experience as a Quality Engineer or similar with a strong mechanical engineering background.

·      ISO Internal Auditor – ISO 9001:2015 and/or ISO 14001:2015

·      In-depth understanding of technical documentation and engineering drawings.

  • Good interpersonal skills, the ability to work on one’s own initiative or as part of a team.
  • Willing to own and facilitate process.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competent with standard Office software.
  • Ability to compose clear and concise reports & documentation.
  • Able to work under pressure to achieve deadlines consistently.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues in a simple and concise manner.



Useful Additional Experience

The following would be advantageous but are not essential:

·      Experience of Advanced Product Quality Planning & Control Plan (APQP), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)

·      Competent with Engineering CAD, ideally Dassault Systems SolidWorks, KiCad and ERP/MRP systems.
