Description

We are seeking an experienced Quality Technician to join our new and growing team.  You will be responsible for ensuring manufactured products meet our customer requirements using the appropriate tools and guidelines. You will also have responsibility for inspecting and verifying goods inward product quality. You will have exceptional attention to detail, be reliable and committed. Knowledge and comprehension of quality standards is essential.

The Role

This role encompasses the following responsibilities:

  • Technically and visually inspecting parts to identify any defects in line with the product specifications for both Steatite manufactured and goods inward materials.
  • Read technical drawings and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the manufactured product and bought in supplies.
  • Ensure accurate records are kept on all defects and non-conformances that are identified.
  • Report issues to the Quality Engineer as required.
  • Responsibility for all non-conformance issues, including the recording, processing and managing of all returns.
  • Face to face interaction with customers quality representatives during manufactured product inspections
  • Provide feedback to the Quality Engineer on how processes can be improved.
  • Adherence to all GDPR & quality policies and standards outlined by the company.
  • Actively support the business with QMS to ISO 9001:2015 certification
  • Equipment Calibration renewals and register
  • You will be required to be flexible in this role and must be prepared to perform other tasks and undertake additional duties in any area of the business as determined by management. These tasks may be outside your normal work area.


Key Competencies

·      Attention to detail is essential

·      Proven experience as a Quality Inspector or relevant role, ideally in an electronics based product manufacturing environment

·      Familiar with electronic/electrical components and cabling

·      Ability to read engineering drawings / data sheets

·      Use of test and measurement equipment

Useful Additional Experience (advantageous)

  • Previous experience in or qualification to IPC-A-610/ IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards
  • Previous Experience of working with DEF-STANs

·      Working in a calibration role or with calibration equipment
