About Improve

Improve International was established in 1998 by a group of veterinary surgeons from across the UK. We run Continuous Professional Development training from veterinary professionals to help develop the skills and knowledge required in practice. 


Our programmes utilise a combination of review lectures, case-based discussion and, where applicable, hands-on practical sessions. Within Improve we also have the function of ‘The International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ISVPS)’. This function is dedicated to providing veterinary surgeons, nurses and technicians with high quality, achievable qualifications that are recognised internationally. We are an international organisation with offices in the UK and Portugal. 


Job Purpose

To be the first point of contact for all delegates enrolled on our modular training programmes, to proactively support delegates to manage their learning and provide pastoral support and the management of their online learning content. Working closely with The Regional Head of Operations to monitor curriculum and quality across the programmes and provide support on accreditation requirements and speaker liaison during programmes. 


Key Responsibilities

·     First point of contact for all delegates enrolled onto our modular training programmes.

·    Liaison between delegates and Improve international, ISVPS and Harper Adams (if applicable)

·      Liaison between delegate and speakers.

·      Ensure delegate queries are dealt with in a prompt manner. Ensure accurate and concise records of delegates are kept up to date on relevant databases.

·       Proactively support delegates to manage their learning and provide pastoral support. - Attend the start and end of courses/modules to meet with delegates and provide course information in conjunction with accreditation and awarding bodies.

·      Attend every other module to provide an Improve international presence at our offsite venues where appropriate and/or practical.

·    Provide opportunities during the course to feedback/comment on their programme of study.

·      Provide additional support when require based on an individual basis, day to day queries etc.

·   Track and monitor delegates across different academic years and progression routes.

·      Provide support on using online learning management software.

·      Promote a peer support ethos amongst the cohort.

·   Working with the Regional Head of Operations to monitor curriculum and quality across the programmes. Monitor and respond to all delegate and speaker feedback in a timely manner.

·      Coordinate feedback in order to lead continual Improvement of programmes.

·      Ensure the key curriculum learning objectives have been covered and supporting the course directors (where applicable)

·      Connect the learning between sessions working with the curriculum and quality team, Head of Online Learning, Speakers etc.

·      Input into the relevant areas of the curriculum including development of learning and study materials.

·      Monitor quality and input into yearly quality cycle and make recommendations for improvements, as necessary.

·      Ensure we hit agreed KPI’S where set including success rates.

·      Ensure all delegates are correctly registered for class sessions and online attendance (Webinars or distance learning modules).

·      Monitor missed attendance for progression routes.

·      Fully understand accreditation requirements in order to support delegates and their progression.

·      Conduct study support, help sessions or webinars where required.

·      Help delegates with exam preparation, written assessments (where applicable) through providing additional content on Moodle.


Liaisons with speakers and course directors

·      Follow set guidelines for preparing speakers for each module, venue, ensuring notes and additional resources have been received as well as lessons plan if a session is delivered via a remote live stream.

·      Coordinating speaker questions and feedback after the session.

·   Liaise with course directors and curriculum team, to deal with specialist queries.

·    Liaise with speakers for future lecturing dates and ensuring contracts are signed and confirmed for following course dares.

·      Ensure speakers have their specific up-to-date speaker calendar.

·      Provide speakers with feedback after each module and discuss any areas of improvement and how improvement could be implemented.


Manage online learning platform content.

·      Make available contents from modules on Moodle (Notes, presentations, case studies, recording and supplementary reference material)

·      Liaise with speakers for additional supporting content for Moodle.

·      Review questions (Pre and post) from speakers and ensure delegates are completing these for every module.

·      Upload evaluation questions on universe

·      Remote live streams – manage and host all remote live streams with speakers and delegates.

·      Ensure speakers have access to the recording software Panopto to record any pre-recorded webinars set out in the course delivery schedule providing support to speakers where required with the aid of the e-learning team.

·      Ensure pre-recorded webinars (if applicable) are provided on Moodle with support from Online learning.

·      Encourage delegate interaction on forums and seek relevant information from speakers, course directors to share and encourage debate.

·      Provide links and support to university partners online platforms.

·      Assist the E-learning and IT support team to resolve any IT or access issues.

·       Liasion with speakers and course directors.


Miscellaneous

·      Recognise and report any further business opportunities identified

·      Provide ongoing support to all other programme areas as appropriate.

 

Curriculum Development

·      In liaison with the curriculum team and on-line learning team work on the development of online modular programmes. Plus, other new curriculum developments. 



Requirements

Qualifications and experience:

 

·      Ideally a Degree in Animal or Veterinary science or equivalent experience.

·      Knowledge and experience of using online learning software’s.

·       Excellent experience in using computer software.

·      Ideally a qualification in education, teaching or learning with experience of teaching would be desirable.

·       Experience of managing delegates/students within a learning environment.

·       Ability to build and develop relationships at all levels with staff, speakers, delegates, sponsors and venues.

·       A self-starter comfortable with working remotely and with colleagues in a variety of international locations.

·       Self-motivated and autonomous with effective time management abilities

·       Flexible and able to travel nationally and occasionally internationally as required. 


Benefits

Annual Leave Entitlement: UK 25 days increasing an additional day after 3 years of service and again by an additional day after 10 years service - to a total of 27 days per annum.


Additional Leave: Office closure on the afternoon of before the 25th December and the 1st January each year.

 

Pension: UK Employee 4% and Employer 5%. The employer contribution increases with a step change % of 1% increase every 3 years to a max of 10%.

 

Weekly Hours: UK 37.5
