ABOUT IMPROVE

Improve International was established in 1998 by a group of veterinary surgeons from across the UK. We run Continuous Professional Development training from veterinary professionals to help develop the skills and knowledge required in practice. 

Our programmes utilise a combination of review lectures, case-based discussion and, where applicable, hands-on practical sessions. Within Improve we also have the function of ‘The International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ISVPS)’. This function is dedicated to providing veterinary surgeons, nurses and technicians with high quality, achievable qualifications that are recognised internationally. We are an international organisation with offices in the UK and Portugal. 

Job Purpose

Work to ensure Vetmedia maintains high standards of business delivery across our training programmes/courses within the territories.

  • To be responsible for overall day to day business
  • Ensure the efficient and profitable delivery
  • Identify and deliver new business opportunities
  • Develop and own the territory budget

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Operational and Sales/Marketing team
  • Manage the delegate journey ensuring delegate satisfaction is at the heart of what we do and proactively manage all customer feedback to ensure a positive customer experience
  • Manage the ongoing recruitment and quality of our speakers and module tutors
  • Overview and management of the course calendar   
  • Help to set relevant KPI’s and track, report, and ensure we achieve agreed quality and financial goals
  • Input into reporting for the Senior Management Team (SMT) and Board including providing accurate and timely management information.  
  • Search for, and negotiate with, new potential; sponsors, wholesalers; equipment suppliers, petfood manufacturers, pharmaceuticals companies to develop a range of ways they can support the business including: supplying/loaning equipment for courses, sponsoring courses, training, dry hire facilities.
  • Ensure website back-office information is updated and correct at all times

Education/Experience

Qualifications and experience:

  • Graduate degree
  • Background in veterinary services (not essential)
  • 3-5 years experience organizing training courses and managing teams

  • Ability to build and develop relationships at all levels
  • A self-starter comfortable with working remotely and with colleagues in a variety of international locations
  • Self-motivated and autonomous with effective time management abilities
  • Flexible and able to travel nationally and internationally as required

Annual Leave Entitlement: 23 annual leave days plus public holidays (regional)


Additional Leave for office closure: Additional leave on the afternoon of the 24th and the 31st December.


Weekly Hours: 40 


Location: Madrid, Spain - at our facility in Madrid with some hybrid working depending upon business needs.
