AIM supports the growth in the end-point assessment (EPA) of apprenticeship standards, delivering high-quality EPA in partnership with major employers across sectors. We are looking for talented and motivated internal quality assurers for Broadcast and Media Systems Technical Operator standard.
About the role
End-point assessors carry out independent assessment of apprentices once they have passed through the gateway. Assessors must maintain up-to-date occupational competence and knowledge to remain credible and ensure fair assessment.
Responsibilities
• Assess and document apprentice competence against apprenticeship standards using stated assessment methods.
• Carry out and record EPA activities in line with AIM and regulatory requirements.
• Provide clear feedback to apprentices on assessment decisions.
• Complete and submit reports within required timescales.
• Participate in training and standardisation activities.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of AIM EPA policies and procedures.
Requirements
Essential requirements:
- Hold or be working towards a recognised assessor qualification (e.g., CAVA, TAQA).
- Be occupationally qualified in the subject area, at least one level higher than the standard applying for, gained in the last 3 years, or significant experience in the occupation or sector.
- Understand the apprenticeship occupational standard and EPA plan.
- Minimum Level 2 English and Maths.
- Be independent with no conflict of interest (must not benefit or be disadvantaged by assessment outcomes)
- Maintain and evidence up-to-date occupational knowledge and expertise.
- Attend induction and standardisation events: Before first EPA, when EPA is updated, and then on a 6 month basis.
- Comply with all Internal and external quality assurance requirements.

- Willingness to travel and flexibility (standard specific)
Desirable Skills
• Experience of assessment (education sector experience desirable but not essential).
• Driving licence (desirable).
