Virtualisation, Storage and Backup Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Virtualisation, Storage and Backup Engineer to design, implement, and manage our virtualized infrastructure, storage systems, and backup solutions. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of IT infrastructure to support business operations and data protection strategies.

Key Roles:

• Design, deploy, and maintain virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, KVM).
• Manage and optimize storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and object storage solutions.
• Develop, implement, and monitor backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Perform capacity planning and performance tuning for virtual environments and storage infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve virtualization, storage, and backup issues in a timely manner
• Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to ensure seamless infrastructure integration.
• Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures, and system architecture.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical support and mentoring to junior team members.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience:

• Proven experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or others.
• Strong knowledge of storage technologies (SAN, NAS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel).
• Experience with backup and recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Veritas).
• Familiarity with cloud storage and backup options (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
• Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash) is advantageous.

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

• Backup and Recovery certifications (e.g., Veeam Certified Engineer)
