Cyber Security Engineer (Intermediate)

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Cyber Security Engineer (Intermediate) to join our IT security team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of cyber security solutions that protect the organization’s systems and data. This role requires a solid foundation in IT security principles, hands-on experience with security tools, and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and implementation of cyber security strategies and frameworks.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents and alerts.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and support penetration testing efforts.
• Maintain and configure security tools such as firewalls, antivirus, and SIEM systems.
• Support compliance with relevant security standards and policies.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure system configurations and practices.

• Education:

NQF Level 6 qualification in Information Technology or a related field.

• Certifications (at least one required):
• CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
• CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
• Or equivalent recognized cyber security certification

• Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years in cyber security, with experience in implementing and maintaining security solutions.
