HEAD OF SOCCER RISK MANAGEMENT

As our Head of Soccer Risk Management, you will own the overall risk strategy for the most important vertical within the sportsbook business. You will be responsible for protecting profitability, optimizing risk processes, managing high-value clients, and ensuring effective cooperation between Risk Management, Trading, Commercial, Product, and Operations teams.

This is a strategic leadership role with full ownership of Soccer Risk Management performance. You will lead multiple teams, define risk policies, drive product improvements, and ensure the company maintains a competitive and sustainable position across all major football competitions worldwide.

Beyond operational management, you will act as the company's key football risk expert, influencing product development, client strategy, and long-term business growth.

Risk Strategy & Business Protection

• Define and execute the long-term Soccer Risk Management strategy.
• Own the profitability and risk performance of the football vertical.
• Develop and maintain limit strategies across all levels: sport, competition, event, market, and player.
• Continuously improve player segmentation, VIP management, delays, blacklists, and bet cancellation policies.
• Ensure a balance between business protection and customer experience.
• Monitor integrity risks, market abuse schemes, and emerging industry threats.

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead Soccer Risk Managers.
• Build an effective organizational structure for the football vertical.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and talent development.
• Establish KPIs, quality standards, and performance evaluation processes.
• Drive a culture of accountability, expertise, and continuous improvement.
• Develop succession plans and future leaders within the department.

Client & VIP Management

• Support key client negotiations regarding limits, risk strategy, VIP players, and exception handling.
• Act as the highest escalation point for complex football-related risk cases.
• Provide expert recommendations to clients regarding player profiling, segmentation, and exposure management.
• Help clients maximize profitability while maintaining acceptable risk levels.

Trading & Product Collaboration

• Work closely with Soccer Trading leadership to align trading and risk strategies.
• Participate in the development of new sportsbook features and risk tools.
• Define requirements for risk dashboards, monitoring systems, alerts, and automation.
• Drive improvements in product functionality related to football betting.
• Ensure efficient communication between Risk, Trading, Product, and Development teams.

Analytics & Reporting

• Monitor key business metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Analyze Margin, GGR, VIP performance, limit efficiency, cancellations, and suspicious activity.
• Present regular reports and strategic recommendations to senior management.
• Use data-driven decision-making to improve profitability and reduce unnecessary losses.

Industry Expertise

• Maintain deep knowledge of global football competitions, betting trends, and market developments.
• Monitor changes in tournament structures, team performance, regulations, and customer behavior.
• Identify emerging opportunities and risks before they impact the business.
• Represent the company as a football risk expert internally and externally.

• 3+ years of experience in Sportsbook Risk Management, Trading, or a similar leadership role.
• Deep expertise in football betting markets, customer behavior, and sportsbook risk management.
• Proven experience managing teams and developing people.
• Strong understanding of sportsbook economics, including Margin, GGR, liability management, and player segmentation.
• Experience working with VIP players, limit management, and high-exposure events.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Experience working closely with Product, Commercial, Trading, and Development teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• English proficiency at B2+ level or higher.
