Salary: £55000.00 - £65,000.00 per annum


Purpose of the role

The Contractual Obligations Lead is responsible for leading and managing the Contractual Obligations Self-Assessment Framework across the organisation. The role ensures contractual compliance assurance activities are delivered consistently, accurately, and effectively, reducing organisational risk and strengthening governance. The postholder will provide leadership to the Contractual Obligations Team, oversee assurance and validation activities, and work collaboratively with stakeholders to drive accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement across all business areas.

Scope and Decision Making:

The role operates with a high degree of autonomy and is responsible for managing the Contractual Obligations Team and associated performance standards. The postholder is accountable for ensuring completion and quality of contractual self-assessment activities, validating compliance evidence, identifying and escalating risks, and providing assurance reporting to directors and senior management. The role influences organisational compliance performance through stakeholder engagement, governance oversight, and continuous improvement initiatives


Duties and Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of the Contractual Obligations Self-Assessment Framework across all business areas and contracts.
  • Ensure contractual assurance activities are completed accurately, consistently, and within agreed timescales.
  • Oversee validation and dip-sampling processes to provide assurance on the quality and robustness of submitted evidence.
  • Identify, assess, monitor, and escalate contractual and compliance risks, ensuring appropriate mitigation actions are implemented.
  • Produce and present performance, assurance, risk, and compliance reports to senior leadership.
  • Maintain governance standards, assurance methodologies, scoring frameworks, and reporting processes.
  • Support organisational decision-making through analysis of compliance information, trends, risks, and performance data.
  • Ensure all mandatory training, performance reviews, audits, workforce planning activities, and people management responsibilities are completed effectively.

 

Procedures:

  • Ensure all self-assessment and assurance activities are undertaken in accordance with company policies, procedures, and contractual obligations.
  • Develop, implement, review, and improve standard operating procedures for the Contractual Obligations Team.
  • Maintain accurate records, audit trails, and compliance documentation.
  • Monitor adherence to governance frameworks, escalation processes, audit standards, and regulatory requirements.
