Hours of work: 40 hours p/w (Mon - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm)


Salary: £30,000.00 - £35,000.00 per annum


Purpose of the role

To provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Data Protection Officer, ensuring the organization maintains compliance with data protection laws and internal policies.

 

The role requires prior experience in data protection or compliance environments, with a strong understanding of GDPR and related regulations.


Duties and Responsibilities

Procedures

Administration & Operation Support

  • Prepare and maintain documentation, reports, and presentations related to data protection activities.
  • Maintain accurate and organised records of data protection policies, audits, and compliance documentation.

 

Data Protection Compliance

  • Assist in monitoring and reporting compliance with GDPR, UK Data Protection Act, and other relevant legislation.
  • Support the handling and tracking of Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Maintain logs of data breaches and assist in coordinating investigations and reporting to regulatory authorities.
  • Help implement and monitor data protection impact assessments (DPIAs).

 

Training and Awareness

  • Organize and schedule data protection training sessions for staff.
  • Maintain training records and assist in developing awareness materials and compliance communications.

 

 Communication & Liaison

  • Act as the first point of contact for internal queries related to data protection and privacy.
  • Liaise with departments to gather information for audits, compliance checks, and risk assessments.

 

Documentation & Reporting

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating data protection policies and
  • procedures.
  • Prepare compliance reports for internal stakeholders and external regulators as required.

 

 Connect and Collaborate

  • Work closely with your line manager and team members
  • Collaborate with others, attending meetings as required
  • Supporting team members and provide on-the-job training
  • Provide cover for other staff as agreed by line manager

  • Keep up-to-date with all written and verbal communications (i.e. emails/messages/calls)
  • Ensure all records are maintained and kept up-to-date according to company policies and procedures

  • Monitor own work levels, progress and development in the role
  • Undertake all core learning and development programmes as required
  • Undertake relevant learning according to agreed Personal Development Plan
