Location: Hybrid (home worker with travel to locations if required)  


Contract type: Permanent


Hours of work: 40 hours p/w (Mon - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm)


Salary: £30,000.00 - £35,000.00 per annum


Purpose of the role

We are seeking a dynamic, multi-skills L&D Training Officer to join our growing team. This role bridges the gap between training and content creation. You will split your time between travelling to physical locations delivering training and QA training standards, partnering with SMEs to review learning material, and lending a practical hand to building learning content.


The ideal candidate is a highly skills trainer, an excellent relationship builder who also hold the foundational design skills needed to jump into authoring tool and help scale our training library.


Key Relationships:

Internal: HR and Learning & Development colleagues; subject matter experts; operational, compliance, quality, health and safety, IT and communications teams; managers and colleagues across the Clearsprings Group.

External: learning technology and content suppliers, where required.


Scope and Decision Making:

This role holds independent authority in the field auditing regional training delivery, scoring trainer performance against our frameworks and mandating immediate corrective actions or coaching if standards are not met. Authorised to lead routine learning reviews with stakeholders and highlight outdates material.


The post holder will work closely with our content develops to draft foundational scripts, create micro-learning modules and design support documentation.

Independently managing regional travel itineraries, the role will conduct on-site training needs analysis and escalate critical compliance risk to the Learning and Development Business Partner.

 


Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities are outcome focused and are delivered in line with Clearsprings values, policies and expected professional standards. 

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on site QA evaluations of local trainers, instructors and all other trainings delivered to staff to ensure company standards and compliance guidelines are maintained.
  • Deliver coaching and ‘Train the Trainer’ support to staff to uplift delivery performance and consistency across the business contracts.
  • Identify operational gaps and report these to the learning and development business partner to maintain a unified learner experience.
  • Act as a primary training contact stakeholders and SMEs, supporting them through the lifecycle of building and reviewing training programmes.
  • Lead regular content reviews of the learning catalogue in partnership with SMEs and our L&D content developers to identify outdated regulations, procedures or material.
  • Assist in developing multi-format learning content like design workshop slide decks, or drafting training resources during peak creation cycles.
  • Maintain and update existing content assets based on contract, site audits or regulatory changes to ensure our learning portfolio remains accurate.

 

Procedures:

  • Follow approved quality assurance framework when conducting training audits.
  • Adhere to the company standards when designing, building and delivering training to staff.
  • Maintain accurate source files, approval records, version control and review dates, and ensure superseded material is removed or clearly controlled. 
  • Test learning outputs before release and escalate technical, accuracy or compliance issues appropriately. 


Connect and Collaborate:

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and partners.
  • Share learner feedback to help shape engagement and updates.
  • Act as a trusted coach, providing constructive feedback and ‘Train the Trainer’ mentoring to ensure delivery standards remain exceptionally high
  • Be a primary point of contact to SMEs to support them through learning review.

  • Manage multiple content reviews and changing priorities, keeping stakeholders informed of progress, dependencies and risks.
  • Respond promptly to business updates, policy changes and urgent learning requirements, prioritising updates according to learner, operational and compliance risk.
  • Take ownership of skill gaps from identification through to resolution and republication.

  • Adaptable in a role that balances home working as well as travel to relevant training locations (primarily office sites).
  • Able to shift mindset from compliance auditing to creative, collaborative storyboarding sessions in partnership with the wider L&D team.
