Hours of work: 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm


Salary: £29,000.00 - £35,000.00 per annum

Purpose of the role

Reporting to the Head of Certification and Licencing, the Planning Officer will be responsible to advise on the planning compliance of the properties being onboarded and to advise on the compliance status, from a planning perspective, of any existing properties.

 

The Planning Officer will also be responsible for advising the department’s management on any planning changes on the portfolio as well as assist in the preparation and delivery of training to the company. 

Duties and Responsibilities

Procedures

  • Review and advise on applications and conversions, Lawful Development Certificates, minor commercial applications, applications within conservation areas and listed building consents, and simple changes
  • Produce accurate and timely reports with minimal supervision, in line with requests from Head of Certification and Licencing and the Compliance Directorate
  • Produce accurate and timely recommendations based on current planning legislation with minimal supervision, in line with requests from Head of Certification and Licencing and the Compliance Directorate
  • Review the planning position of the portfolio and onboarded properties and liaise with Head of Certification and Licencing and the Compliance Directorate to ensure that the current or prospective occupancy matches the permitted development
  • Liaise with the certification and licencing team and the Head of Certification and Licencing to in the process of type of occupancy changes
  • Liaise with team members to gather data to respond to Home Office queries
  • Support Head of Property Standards with specific tasks as directed
  • Support with the training for the team and the wider business.

  • Supporting team members and provide on-the-job training
  • Provide cover for other staff as agreed by line manager
  • Working together to identify improvements in processes and management information

  • Ensure all records are maintained and kept up-to-date according to company policies and procedures
