Are you a driven and detail oriented finance professional looking to take the next step in your career? We have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to play a key role in our finance function, supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial analysis across our group of companies.


As a key member of our finance team, you will own the month end reporting process, preparing consolidated accounts and balance sheet reconciliations while providing valuable insights to drive profitability and efficiency. You will also contribute to forecasting, budgeting, and year end procedures, ensuring compliance with internal and external reporting standards.


This role is perfect for a part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with experience in long-term contract accounting, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in ERP systems and Excel. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast paced environment, can manage multiple priorities, and is eager to contribute to process improvements and financial strategy.


This role is based in Washington, Tyne and Wear and requires candidates to live within a reasonable commuting distance. Key Tasks

  • Oversee the monthly reporting timetable and ensure this is adhered to
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and support schedules for a portfolio of businesses within the group, in line with company deadlines.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for key accounts and ensure these are reviewed in a timely manner.
  • Support with annual budgets and periodic re-forecasts.
  • Perform analysis to forecast, budget and prior year across the group.
  • Actively manage overheads for a portfolio of departments across the Group, whilst seeking out areas for efficiencies for savings.
  • Assist with month end / year end preparation and procedures and provision of information to auditors.
  • Lead and embrace change within designated areas of responsibility.
  • Perform such other ad hoc responsibilities which may be required from time to time.

Qualifications

  • Part qualified – working towards a recognized accountancy qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACA, ACCA)
  • Degree preferred
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, and budgeting principles

Demonstratable Experience

·      Exposure to long term contract accounting

·      Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel

·      Experience with an ERP system
