Description

Forest Glen's adventure staff is responsible for setting up, breaking down and facilitating camp activities for all campers. Activities include swimming, archery, axe throwing, canoeing, team building, high ropes and zipline. Adventure staff will also be interacting with guests daily and answering an questions they may have. Other duties as assigned; these duties can and will include the cleaning of the facility at the end of each session and during the week. Adventure Team reports directly to Retreats Leads.




Daily Responsibilities

  • Responsible for set up, break down and facilitating activities.
  • Report to Activities Manager when areas and equipment are in disrepair or need to be replenished.  
  • Enforce all safety standards as indicated in ropes course, lifeguard, and activity standard operating procedures.  
  • Have a thorough understanding and willful call to action of Forest Glen’s Emergency Action Plans. 
  • Attend, participate, and complete all mandatory trainings.  
  • Complete and process all essential paperwork and checklists. 
  • Attend all mandatory staff gatherings, including FG Church and Friday night meetings.  
  • Responsible for cleanliness of assigned room and common space. 
  • Assist Ignite program as assigned.  
  • Other duties as assigned. 


Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must demonstrate a maturing faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; and confidently articulate that faith.
  • Must be presentable and personable, with a strongly developed servant heart and mind; ready always to put the needs of others ahead of their own.
  • Ability to create and foster positive relationships with guests and team members.
  • Must have strong verbal communication skills in front of large audiences for safety briefings, team building instruction, or debriefs with campers and guests.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to withstand the Texas heat and be comfortable working outdoors.
