Description

Forest Glen's Gap Year Program serves camp ministry in various capacities. Areas of service may include Program, Hosting Retreats, Facilitating Activities, Kitchen, Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Administration.


Daily Responsibilities


  • Assist with camp programming, retreats, and guest hospitality.
  • Support food service, housekeeping, maintenance, and facility operations.
  • Help lead recreational activities, Bible studies, and camper discipleship opportunities.
  • Participate in weekly spiritual development, leadership training, and mentoring.
  • Represent Forest Glen with a Christ-like attitude and commitment to servant leadership.
  • Have a thorough understanding and willful call to action of Forest Glen’s Emergency Action Plans. 
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of assigned room and common space. 
  • Assist in other areas as needed.   
  • Other duties as assigned. 


Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must demonstrate a maturing faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; and confidently articulate that faith.
  • Must be presentable and personable, with a strongly developed servant heart and mind; ready always to put the needs of others ahead of their own.
  • Ability to create and foster positive relationships with guests and team members.
  • Must have strong verbal communication skills in front of large audiences for safety briefings, team-building instruction, or debriefs with campers and guests.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to withstand the Texas heat and be comfortable working outdoors.
