Hours of work: 40 hours p/w (Mon - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm)


Salary: £47,000.00 - £55,000.00 per annum

Purpose of the job

The Safeguarding Manager promotes a culture of safety for vulnerable Children in Care, Children in Need and Care Leavers.


Overseeing a team, Safeguarding Manager the ensures that relevant referral information is shared with the appropriate authorities in line with Policies, Legislation and Protocols.



The Safeguarding Manager develops and maintains professional relationships with external stakeholders, and represents the company at agency meetings, groups and hearings.

Duties and Responsibilities

Procedures

  • Lead the implementation of safeguarding policies, protocols and procedures
  • Promote a culture where the safety of vulnerable Children in Care, Children in Need and Care Leavers is paramount and to reduce organisational risk
  • Act as the Safeguarding lead and ensuring that a stable and secure environment is provided for all young people.
  • Develop and maintain external links with local safeguarding teams, bringing community expertise into the strategy for Ready Homes
  • Review the safeguarding policy and procedures on an annual basis to deliver the safeguarding strategy and incorporate current legislation.
  • Develop and update guidance, training and other material to help staff implement safeguarding policies and procedures in their work
  • Deliver training to new staff and provide a range of learning opportunities to ensure the organisation is up to date and implementing best safeguarding practice
  • Ensure appropriate reporting and response procedures are in place
  • Provide expert advice and support to staff in responding to protection cases, ensuring that our responses are timely and protect the best interests of the parties involved
  • Monitor and review management information to ensure contractual compliance and best practice
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure that measures are in place to ensure the company complies with data protection including GDPR

 

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OTHER AGENCIES AND LOCAL AUTHORITIES

  • Be a single point of contact within Ready Homes for all Local Authorities and Agencies regarding Safeguarding.
  • Make all safeguarding referrals to the appropriate agencies in line with local policy.
  • Undertake regular CPD training regarding safeguarding, and in particular those elements that affect Ready Homes demographic of young people .
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with Local Authorities, NGO’s and other agencies regarding Safeguarding matters.
  • Ensure that once a safeguarding referral is made, that all relevant information is shared with the appropriate authorities in line with Data Protection (GDPR), Information Sharing Legislation and Protocols.
  • Represent CRH at MARAC (including HT), MAPPA, Strategy Group, Core Group, Case Conferences and subsequent P.L.O. and Court Hearings.
  • Confirm that Ready Homes is registered with the Local Authorities and Local Safeguarding Children Boards (LSCB’s) in the geographical areas in which the organisation operates to ensure that Ready Homes are informed of all interventions regarding young people.
  • Liaise with Police Forces and Probation Services regarding Service Users accommodated by Ready Homes and that are subject to reporting requirements following their inclusion of the Sex Offenders Register.
  • Represent CRH at Area Health & Wellbeing Meetings, Age Assessment Meetings, Migrant and Refugee Forums.

  • Supporting team members and provide on-the-job training
  • Provide cover for other staff as agreed by line manager

  • Ensure all records are maintained and kept up-to-date according to company policies and procedures
