Who we are looking for:

We are looking for an experienced and strategically minded leader to take on the role of IT Manager at our payment institution. In this key position, you will lead our IT team and combine a strategic outlook with a hands-on approach to project management, technology and security. You will work closely with the CEO in Poland, the group headquarters, and collaborate with international IT and business teams, having a real impact on the development and direction of the products and organization.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Strategic IT Leadership & Governance

  • Define and execute the local IT strategy aligned with group policies, regulatory requirements, and business objectives
  • Act as the primary IT representative in Poland, ensuring that technology supports business growth, risk management, and operational resilience
  • Manage the IT budget and ensure smart allocation of resources, making informed investment decisions that balance innovation, security, and efficiency

🔹 Technology & Security Oversight in a Regulated Environment

  • Drive compliance with IT policies, risk controls, and incident response procedures in line with local and group requirements. (e.g. ITIL, DORA Regulation, ISO27000)
  • Ensure that IT systems, applications, and processes meet payment institution regulatory standards (e.g. KNF regulations, PSD2, GDPR and local laws (e.g. Payment Services Act)
  • Collaborate with the IT security, Data Protection (DPO), AML and compliance to ensure high information security and technology resilience

🔹 IT Operations & Infrastructure Coordination

  • Oversee daily IT operations in Poland, including system availability, local infrastructure needs, and IT support
  • Coordinate with headquarters on infrastructure management and with third-party vendors to ensure reliable and compliant services such as banks, KIR, Mastercard, etc.

🔹 IT Team Management

  • Lead and coordinate the local Developers, QA Engineers, and Helpdesk IT by setting project priorities and allocating tasks
  • Ensure efficient software delivery, high product quality, and effective user support
  • Promote best practices in agile development, testing, and release management
  • Serve as the bridge between the Polish team, group headquarters’ infrastructure team, and extended development teams in other countries
  • Facilitate smooth cooperation, knowledge sharing, and delivery across multiple locations

🔹 Project & Implementation Management

  • Lead the delivery of technology initiatives, ensuring timely and successful implementation of new systems, applications, and business solutions
  • Oversee the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements and design through testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance
  • Establish clear performance measures (KPIs, ROI, and quality benchmarks) to track project success and ensure alignment with business goals
  • Foster collaboration between IT, business stakeholders, and international teams to drive efficient execution and knowledge sharing

🔹 Reporting & Collaboration with Management and Supervisors

  • Provide regular updates to the Management Board and Audit Committee on IT strategy, security posture, project progress, and key risk areas
  • Act as the primary IT contact for supervisory bodies, cooperating effectively with internal and external auditors, the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF), and the National Bank of Poland (NBP)
  • Support regulatory and supervisory processes by preparing and contributing to documentation such as IT opinions for license applications, IT risk assessments, and security policies


Our requirements:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 7+ years of professional IT experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role within financial services, fintech, or other regulated industries
  • Proven experience in leading development, QA, and IT support teams, preferably across multiple locations
  • Background in payment institutions, banks, or financial services with knowledge of supervisory expectations (KNF, NBP, or equivalent regulators)
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), IT operations, QA, and support processes
  • Solid knowledge of cybersecurity, data protection (GDPR), and IT risk management best practices
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks applicable to payment institutions, like DORA, ISO27000, PCI/DSS
  • Experience working with cloud-based infrastructure and coordinating with central infrastructure teams
  • Ability to define and implement IT strategy aligned with business goals and regulatory obligations
  • Strong project and program management skills with a track record of on-time, in-scope delivery
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills with international IT and business teams
  • Experience in vendor management, contract negotiations, and ensuring service quality
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and readiness to engage in operational matters when required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with focus on value-driven IT investment decisions
  • Fluency in Polish and English, spoken and written (additional languages are an advantage)
  • High integrity and professionalism with the ability to operate effectively in a regulated financial environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, both for self and the team
