Legal Partner / Director

At BDO Thailand our Tax & Legal Team is focused on providing holistic support for our clients.

We work with large MNCs and SMEs to provide them support on tax and corporate legal matters.

We are a full-service firm providing support from setting up of an entity, ensuring companies understand and comply with the local regulation, and even support when they plan to downsize or liquidate.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Legal Partner/Director to join our growing Tax & Legal practice. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a proven track record in legal services, and a deep understanding of complex cross-border transactions. This role will involve overseeing and building our legal team to enable BDO to provide comprehensive services to a diverse portfolio of clients.

Responsibilities would include:

• Team Leadership & Management: Build and grow a team of professionals, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure high-quality service delivery.
• Legal & Tax Advisory: Support clients with legal and tax planning, structuring, compliance, and dispute resolution.
• Tax Dispute Representation: Represent clients in negotiations with tax authorities, administrative bodies, or in court for tax disputes.
• Cross-Border Transactions & Transfer Pricing: Advise clients on cross-border transactions, transfer pricing, tax treaties, and corporate restructurings.
• Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A): Provide expert legal guidance on M&A transactions, including due diligence, structuring, and negotiation.
• Intellectual Property (IP) Protection: Advise clients on the protection of intellectual property assets, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights.
• Corporate Restructuring: Lead legal and tax advisory on corporate restructuring matters, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
• SEC-Regulated Entities: Provide guidance on matters involving companies regulated by the SEC, ensuring adherence to relevant compliance frameworks.
• Risk Identification & Mitigation: Collaborate with clients to identify legal risks and provide practical, business-oriented solutions.

• Law degree with a strong background in tax law, corporate law, and dispute resolution.
• Extensive experience in leading legal and tax teams, with a focus on international transactions, M&A, and restructuring.
• Proven expertise in representing clients in tax disputes, including experience with tax authorities and court proceedings.
• Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, including those governing SEC-regulated entities.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Thai National with strong command of spoken and written English.
