What you will do:

About the Role:

We are looking for a results-driven and highly adaptable Area Sales Manager (ASM) to drive commercial performance across assigned Mogo branches in Kenya.

The ASM will be responsible for driving sales growth, customer acquisition, loan disbursements, market penetration and overall branch performance within the assigned area. The role will provide day-to-day leadership and support to sales teams, monitor performance against targets, identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions to improve productivity and business results.

The successful candidate should be flexible and willing to work at any Mogo branch in Kenya, based on business requirements. The role requires someone who can quickly adapt to different branch environments, understand local market dynamics, build strong relationships with customers and partners, and maintain high standards of customer service, compliance and operational discipline.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Drive achievement of sales, loan disbursement, customer acquisition and other commercial targets across assigned branches.
  • Monitor branch performance, sales pipelines, conversion rates, productivity and other key commercial indicators, identifying gaps and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
  • Lead, coach and support sales teams to improve productivity, customer acquisition, sales conversion and overall performance.
  • Ensure excellent customer experience by following up on customer enquiries, supporting repeat business and generating referrals.
  • Act as a key point of contact for Boda and Car Asset Financing within the assigned branches and ensure customers receive accurate, timely and comprehensive product information.
  • Generate new business through existing customer networks, referrals, partnerships, market visits and other appropriate sales channels.
  • Support the processing of customer loan applications and ensure timely submission of complete documentation to facilitate efficient loan processing and disbursement.
  • Ensure proper collection and verification of all required customer documentation, including adherence to KYC and fraud-prevention requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential corporate, dealer and other business partners to support business growth.
  • Monitor and manage branch inventory, ensuring adequate stock availability, proper accountability and proactive management of ageing inventory.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to Mogo's policies, SOPs, KYC requirements, operational processes and other applicable controls.
  • Prepare and submit accurate monthly sales and performance reports, including key insights, challenges and recommended actions.
  • Identify operational and commercial barriers affecting branch performance and work with relevant internal stakeholders to resolve them.
  • Support market expansion initiatives by identifying business opportunities, competitor activity, customer needs and local market trends.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and readiness to work across different Mogo branches and locations based on business requirements.
  • Undertake any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Line Manager.




What you will need:

Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Social Sciences or any other relevant business-related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in sales, business development, loan operations, customer support or a related commercial role, preferably within the financial services sector.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets, driving business growth and delivering results.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, motivate and coordinate teams towards achievement of business objectives.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, customer acquisition, loan applications, KYC requirements and fraud prevention.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify performance gaps and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback, manage performance and support the development of team members.
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability and ability to work independently in a fast-paced and target-driven environment.
  • Highly adaptable and flexible, with the ability and willingness to work across different Mogo branches and locations based on business requirements.
  • Fluency in English and Swahili.
  • Previous experience in Boda-boda, vehicle or asset financing will be an added advantage.
