About Paybis

Paybis is a global fintech company operating in crypto and payments.

We build infrastructure that allows users and businesses to buy, sell, and move crypto in a secure and regulated way across 180+ countries.

We are a regulated, profitable company where product and technology are not support functions — they are the business.

About the Role

We are hiring a Technical Product Owner Lead to lead our team of 4 TPOs across 7 product streams — and personally own the B2C product stream as a hands-on TPO.

This is not a coordination role. This is not a process-management role.

This role requires someone who writes TRDs, BRDs, and UML sequence diagrams, challenges engineering estimates, coaches and develops their team, and makes backlog decisions independently — all at the same time.

What You'll Be Doing

As TPO Lead — Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 4 TPOs embedded across 7 product streams
  • Own hiring and performance management of the TPO team
  • Define and maintain TPO standards — backlog quality, AC format, TRD/BRD templates
  • Identify delivery gaps across streams and drive clarity on what gets done, by whom, and by when
  • Act as escalation point for blockers and cross-stream dependencies

As TPO of the B2C Stream — Hands-On Ownership

  • Own the B2C product stream backlog end-to-end
  • Write technical requirements: TRD (Technical Requirements Document), BRD (Business Requirements Document), UML sequence diagrams
  • Refine backlog items from discovery to sprint-ready in collaboration with engineering and design
  • Monitor delivery quality and velocity — surface risks proactively
  • Collaborate daily with engineering leads, product designers, and the CPO

What We Expect

Must-have

  • 3+ years of experience as a Technical Product Owner or Senior TPO — not purely BA, not purely PM
  • Proven experience directly managing a team of POs or TPOs (direct manager, not informal lead)
  • Hands-on technical requirements writing: TRD, BRD, UML sequence diagrams — this is a core deliverable
  • Business Analysis foundation — process mapping, gap analysis, requirements documentation
  • Backlog ownership at the task / technical level with real trade-off decisions
  • Experience in fintech, payments, crypto, or a similarly complex and regulated technical product environment
  • Strong stakeholder management across engineering, business, and C-level simultaneously
  • High autonomy working style — you do not need micromanagement to operate effectively
  • Fluent English — all working communication is in English

Nice-to-have

  • Crypto-specific product experience (exchange, wallet, on/off-ramp, DeFi)
  • Knowledge of MiCA, VASP, or EU crypto regulatory framework
  • Experience building or scaling a TPO / PO practice from scratch
  • CSPO, SAFe PO/PM, or equivalent product certification
  • CBAP or similar Business Analysis certification
  • Platform or API product ownership experience

How You Work

This role will fit you if:

  • You are technically credible — engineers respect your requirements and challenge your thinking
  • You lead through coaching, not authority — you develop your team rather than do their work
  • You are comfortable making backlog and delivery decisions without waiting for perfect information
  • You adapt quickly to ambiguity — the backlog is not always clear, and you help bring order to that
  • You are an extravert who builds relationships naturally across functions and seniority levels
  • You write requirements that engineering can build from without daily clarification

This role will NOT fit you if:

  • You are a business-only PO who cannot write a TRD or challenge an engineering estimate
  • You have never directly managed Product Owners
  • You treat the backlog as a to-do list rather than a product responsibility
  • You prefer process certainty over ambiguity
  • You need regular guidance to determine your priorities

What Success Looks Like

First 30 days

  • You have audited the current product and delivery state across streams
  • You have mapped strengths, gaps, and risks — and shared your findings with the CPO
  • You have built working relationships with your TPO team, engineering leads, and key stakeholders

First 90 days

  • You have taken full backlog ownership of the B2C stream
  • You have executed on at least X gaps identified in your audit
  • You have completed a performance review of each TPO and defined individual development plans
  • Delivery quality and backlog discipline are visibly improving across streams

6–12 months

  • Your TPO team operates at a clearly higher level of technical ownership and delivery quality
  • The B2C stream runs predictably with minimal escalations to the CPO
