About Improve

This is a Maternity Cover position and 12 months Fixed Term Contract

Improve Veterinary Education was established in 1998 by a group of veterinary surgeons from across the UK. We run Continuous Professional Development training for veterinary professionals to help develop the skills and knowledge required in practice. Our programmes utilise a combination of review lectures, case-based discussion and, where applicable, hands-on practical sessions. Within Improve we also have the function of ‘The International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ISVPS)’. This function is dedicated to providing veterinary surgeons, nurses and technicians with high quality, achievable qualifications that are recognised internationally. We are an international organisation with offices in the UK and Portugal.

The company first won the contract for Official Veterinary training in 2014 and successfully won the retender in 2020. The current contract is for the Provision of Veterinary and Paraprofessional Training, Authorisation and Assurance Services. The training courses are available in Great Britain but are also studied by candidates in Northern Ireland and the Crown Dependencies and cover export certification and the control and management of notifiable diseases. The courses are all online, with the exception of the final part of the TB testing qualification.
