What we are looking for

A skilled, hands-on HR Business Partner to join our team with proven experience in  developing and implementing HR initiatives across departments.

About the role

As an HR Business Partner, you will partner with leaders to drive business success through people and will play a pivotal role in aligning our people strategy with the overall  business goals. You will work closely with the senior management, operations  managers and support teams to build a thriving , high performance culture while driving  strategic HR initiatives. Acting as both a trusted advisor and hands on coach, you will ensure our people's experience is at the heart of everything we do. This is a highly  influential role where you will help shape our future workforce, enable growth through talent development, and embed a culture of care, inclusion and performance across the  business. 

What you will be doing

Strategic partnership 

  • Act as a trusted advisor to management. 
  • Aligning HR strategy with business objectives 
  • Participate in business planning discussions and translate needs into people solutions. 


Workforce Planning and Employment Equity  

  • Identify workforce gaps and future skills needs 
  • Support succession planning and leadership development, and propose recommendations 
  • Assist and sit on the employment equity committee ensuring that objectives are driven and implemented


Employee Relations & Engagement 

  • Provide guidance on employee relations issues ( conflict resolution, grievance, performance matters ) 
  • Co-ordinate and conduct disciplinary hearings and managing the grievance process  
  • Assist with preparation of CCMA cases as and when required  
  • Live and demonstrate the company values whilst promoting a positive workplace culture. 
  • Develop and maintain initiatives that drive employee engagement, culture and retention. 


Performance & Development 

  • Support managers in setting clear goals and performance standards aligned with the company's KPI structures. 
  • Drive performance management processes 
  • Identify training needs and partner with L&D to implement solutions


Change Management & Transformation 

  • Support business leaders through relevant organisational changes
  • Help manage communication and employee impact during change


HR Policy & Compliance 

  • Provide support to departments and management to ensure compliance with labour laws and company policies 
  • Provide advice and risk management on HR related matters. 
  • Assist with SOP and Policy development and ensure that its driven throughout the business  


Data & Insights

  • Review and assess HR metrics ( turnover, engagement, absenteeism, disciplinaries, leave, etc) to provide insights to leadership. 
  • Recommend actions based on workforce analytics 
  • Ensure high quality and accurate HR metrics and insights are provided.



Minimum requirements (qualifications, skills and experience and other)

  • A relevant tertiary degree, preferably Honours or Masters Degree in Human Resource Management 
  • Minimum 5-8 years of HR Business Partner experience. 
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of all regulations such as the Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Occupational Health and
  •  Safety Act, COIDA, Employment Equity Act, and SETA. 
  • Advanced business software skills such as Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite, including HR software. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Strong attention to detail is essential. 
  • Industrial and Employee Relations experience. 
  • Problem solver 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, high growth environment, with the agility to adapt
  • quickly to shift priorities and business needs.
