ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a highly technical Digital Service Engineer to join our team and support the delivery of critical digital solutions across industrial and energy sectors. This role combines advanced technical troubleshooting, software support, and service ownership, requiring expertise in .NET applications, SQL databases, system integrations, and production support environments.


As a key member of the Service Engineering team, you will investigate application and system issues, perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot software defects, analyze database performance, and work closely with development, infrastructure, and client teams to deliver timely resolutions. You will play an active role in maintaining system reliability, improving platform performance, and driving continuous technical improvements across our solutions portfolio.

Salary: Up to C$80,000, depending upon skills and experience.

SUMMARY OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Responsibilities

You will:

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of .NET applications, services, APIs, and integrated software platforms.
  • Analyze and resolve issues using SQL Server, T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and database diagnostics.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of application incidents and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Investigate system logs, performance metrics, and diagnostic data to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Support deployment, configuration, and maintenance activities for customer-facing software solutions.
  • Work closely with Development, Infrastructure, and Product teams to resolve complex software defects.
  • Develop and execute SQL scripts to support investigations, data correction, and system validation activities.
  • Participate in system upgrades, software releases, testing, and change management processes.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, monitoring enhancements, and performance improvements.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge articles, and troubleshooting guides.


Service Responsibilities

You will:

  • Manage incidents and service requests in accordance with agreed SLAs.
  • Provide regular technical updates to customers and stakeholders throughout the incident lifecycle.
  • Participate in on-call support for critical production systems.
  • Support continual service improvement initiatives through trend analysis and incident reviews.
  • Contribute to customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality technical support and effective communication.



IMPORTANT

As our Service Team deliver 24/7/365 (on call) services, we may require you to join an on-call rota. Typically, this will be a maximum of one week in four, though you can volunteer to participate more frequently, and this may be required on occasions. You will be compensated for periods spent on call, as well as any work done as a result of an on-call invocation. Our on-call services are typically limited to high priority incidents only, thus client demand during on call periods is typically low.

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for:


Technical Skills & Experience


Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting enterprise software applications in a production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of C# and .NET technologies.
  • Experience writing and troubleshooting T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
  • Understanding of software architecture, APIs, and system integrations.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server environments and Microsoft technologies.
  • Experience using ticketing and incident management systems.


Desirable:

  • Experience with Azure services and cloud-hosted applications.
  • Knowledge of REST APIs and JSON.
  • Experience using Git, Azure DevOps, or similar version control and CI/CD platforms.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
  • Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, energy, or operational technology systems.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.
