Job Description

Kelly Park Limited have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of Registered Manager. We are looking for a passionate, proactive person to take a pivotal role in the management and development of our Domiciliary Care Service in County Durham.


Kelly Park Limited has delivered care services in County Durham for 31 years developing a strong reputation for providing responsive and high-quality services.


PURPOSE

You will be responsible to ensure the effective management of the Home Care Service by providing Quality Social Care and promoting Service Users’ independence. The Registered Manager position is accountable for compliance with regulated activities and will be part of the Senior Management Team (SMT).


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & MAIN DUTIES


Compliance

· Ensure overall operational management and compliance of all care delivery practices, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

· Carry out Audits of the service and Action Plan for development and improvement.

· Maintain a strong knowledge and understanding of all CQC regulations, Local Authority Quality Band Assessments and GDPR to ensure compliance.

· Ensure all staff work in a safe manner and maintain an awareness of staff well-being, acting appropriately if any concerns are identified.

· Ensure the highest standards of Health & Safety.

· Ensure delivery of the highest quality person-centered care to individuals within the community.


Leadership

· Develop and maintain strong relationships with all staff to promote engagement, team-working and commitment to the values of Kelly Park Limited.

· Ensure staff are clear of their accountabilities and have the support they require to carry out their roles safely and effectively.

· In conjunction with our Recruitment Officers and other team members, oversee staff recruitment to ensure a robust process and support system are maintained.

· Implement practices to promote staff retention and encourage the team to do the same.

· Ensure regular Supervisions are carried out and are effective, including systematic follow-up and feedback of any issues raised.


Utilise process to:

· Maintain competency levels.

· Identify and monitor development and training needs.

· Promote knowledge and understanding.

· Communicate key issues.

· Address any staff concerns.

· Conduct performance monitoring and appraisals of direct reporting staff.

· Ensure that staff attend all mandatory training sessions.

Always lead by example.


Communication

· Promote dignity and respect throughout the service towards customers and between colleagues and other contacts.

· Schedule and drive regular meetings at appropriate intervals with all care staff to encourage open communication and feedback. Whenever possible, these should be face-to-face meetings.

· Develop positive relationships with social workers and community teams to ensure business growth and continuity.

· Meet and liaise with regulators, local councils, business’ and other professional organisations through networking to ensure strong communication and working relationships at all time.

· Attend meetings as required with customers and/or their relatives with relation to complaints, health and safety and maintaining good working practices.


Business Strategy

· Maintain awareness of Kelly Park’s key strategic goals and financial performance.

· As a member of the Senior Management Team, contribute ideas to actively drive the growth and development of the business and planning process.

· Develop and support a service to ensure that customer needs are regularly assessed and met, striving to achieve best practice whenever possible.

· Develop and support performance management systems to ensure smooth running of business.

· Develop and support Quality Assurance management systems to ensure smooth running of business.


Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience and knowledge of Home Care is ESSENTIAL as the successful applicant will take on leadership responsibilities of their designated team.
  • Hold a full driving licence and have access to a car.
  • Strong I.T skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience of managing a busy work load.
  • Ability to analyse a situation and take decisive action in a timely manner.
  • Previous care experience (+NVQ 5 qualified).


Shift Pattern:

Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm.


You may also be required to provide telephone support to our team of Care Co-Ordinators during out of hours as emergency support on a rota system. This may be a variation of support between the following hours:

Weekdays 07:00am - 08:30am and 5:00pm - 11:00pm weekends between 07:00am - 11:00pm which will be paid as an enhancement to your salary.
