What you will be doing:

As a Database Administrator (DBA), you will be part of a service line operating across Europe and Asia. You will be responsible for the operational maintenance, monitoring, and support of enterprise database environments to ensure availability, performance, and data integrity; and execute routine database management tasks while adhering to enterprise standards and security policies. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Monitor database health, performance, and availability
  • Execute database patching and minor upgrades
  • Perform routine backup and restore operations 
  • Manage user access and permissions in accordance with security policies
  • Support database provisioning based on established standards
  • Troubleshoot database-related incidents and escalate complex issues
  • Maintain database documentation and configuration records
  • Support capacity monitoring and report potential resource constraints
  • Explore and configure database replication solutions
  • Understand and optimize how Exadata works, dealing with queries, indexes, and new models to leverage the best features during incidents and edge cases
  • Collaborate closely internal colleagues, as well as with internal and external stakeholders to understand business requirements and design comprehensive solutions.


What we are looking for:

  • Several years of experience in database administration or support roles
  • Experience supporting production database environments
  • Working knowledge of relational database platforms (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • Team-Player Mindset: You must be able to escalate issues promptly, ask for help without hesitation, and act as a true team player to resolve issues as soon as possible
  • Basic understanding of cloud database services
  • Basic understanding of high availability and disaster recovery concepts
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery procedures, as well as database patching and maintenance practices
  • Basic performance troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of database security and access management
  • Familiarity with scripting tools (PowerShell, Bash, etc.)
  • Understanding of ITSM processes and change management
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams
  • Good analytical and troubleshooting capabilities
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Willingness to participate in on-call or shift-based support models 
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.


What will be a plus:

Hands-on experience in implementing database replication, specifically Always-On configurations, Oracle Data Guard, and Oracle instance replication.
