Junior Researcher (German speaking)

Legalease is the publisher of The Legal 500 Series, the market-leading directory with a long and established track record for analysing, ranking and providing detailed editorial on the world's leading business law firms. The Legal 500 prides itself on the quality and depth of its research, as well as on the integrity of its research team.

We are expanding our product offering and have vacancies for bright, hardworking and tenacious researchers to work across The Legal 500 series.

Applicants must have an excellent command of spoken and written English and German and must be able to manage time effectively and work to deadlines. Knowledge of the legal sector is preferable but not essential. Much of the law covered by the Legal 500 guides around the world is commercial so an interest in business and the City would be helpful. Although part of a close-knit team, you will be expected to work with a high degree of autonomy.

This is a hybrid role with three days based in the office on Fleet Street, London (Monday and Wednesday being ‘anchor days’).

• Fluent/Business Fluent German spoken and written language skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written and in person/on the phone
• An energetic self-starter
• Ability to build relationships across the business with internal stakeholders
• Excellent organisational and planning skills

• To gather details of law firms' recent work, through the collection of written submissions and interviews with senior-level lawyers
• To obtain opinions on the quality of law firms' work from their clients
• To assess and benchmark firms by practice area and country
• To write comprehensive, in-depth analysis of the leading law firms in certain key practice areas
• Ability to build a rapport / relationships with law firms at BD and partner level
