What you will do:

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and professional Security Officer – Debt Collection to support debt recovery operations while ensuring compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and security procedures. The successful candidate will provide security oversight during field collection activities, investigate fraud and asset-related incidents, support repossession exercises, and ensure the safety of staff and company assets.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Collection of hard cases.
  • Provide security support during debt collection and asset recovery operations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and security evaluations before field assignments.
  • Escort and support collection teams during high-risk recovery activities.
  • Investigate cases involving fraud, theft, concealment of assets, and other security incidents.
  • Liaise with law enforcement agencies, local administration, and other stakeholders during recovery operations.
  • Prepare detailed incident, investigation, and recovery reports.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies and applicable laws during collection activities.
  • Track and recover company assets where necessary.
  • Gather intelligence and conduct due diligence on cases requiring escalation.
  • Respond to security incidents involving staff, clients, or company assets.
  • Maintain accurate records of investigations, recoveries, and security incidents.
  • Provide security awareness training and guidance to collection staff.
  • Assist in developing and implementing security procedures to enhance operational effectiveness. 


What you will need:

Qualifications and Experience:


Academic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in criminology, Security Management, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.


Experience:


  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in security operations, investigations, debt collection security, asset recovery, law enforcement, or a related field.
  • Experience in the financial services, microfinance, banking, or asset financing sector will be an added advantage.


Skills and Competencies:


  • Strong investigative and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of debt collection and asset recovery processes.
  • Good understanding of Kenyan laws relating to debt recovery, security operations, and criminal investigations.
  • Excellent report writing and documentation skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to handle conflict and difficult situations professionally.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work under pressure and travel extensively when required.
