Overview of Role

This role exists to deliver best value and service for AF members developing and growing the import and export energy contract business. Deliver high levels of service overseeing annual Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and other metering contracts associated with export energy services. To actively contribute to the wider pillar business objectives and growth targets supporting growth of import contract business.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing the export contract portfolio day to day, including raising any escalations of unresolved queries to the Utilities Procurement Manager.
  • To ensure Members receive payments for their exported energy in a timely manner
  • Escalations of issues and queries relating to export contracts.
  • Supplier Management for suppliers for Export & Wood fuels to include negotiation of relevant terms to ensure suppliers are working within any relevant regulations
  • Responsibility for supplier segmentation and scorecards continuously evaluating supplier performance and providing feedback to enable improvements
  • Retain and grow business by reviewing, visiting and continuously building long-term member relationships increasing wallet share
  • Contribute towards continuous improvement of service levels.
  • Ensure knowledge base of the product areas maintains an understanding of any future technical and commercial aspects of relevant markets and any impact these may have on the business
  • Work with members and suppliers to deliver a smooth on-boarding journey from procurement to registration
  • Assist the Supply Management Team where necessary to facilitate smooth onboarding and continuing business experience for the member
  • Tender for the procurement of new import/export supplies for electricity, mains gas and water Record and maintain all site and quotation details on the database to facilitate the production of and progress of a quotation through to acceptance or refusal
  • Initiate the registration process for successful quotations
  • Work with the Utilities Procurement Manager to support the procurement of new contracts for existing supplies
  • Proactively identify new business opportunities for AF, working towards increasing member commitment and volumes
  • Proactively identify process improvements and raise the to the Utilities Procurement Manager
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Act in a professional and ethical way, maintaining a high degree of integrity, promoting the activities of AF at all times. 
  • Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality be aware of inadvertently passing on information to members and suppliers. 
  • Consistently demonstrate AF’s values and proactively contribute towards the strategic aims and objectives. 
  • Manual validation of energy invoices where appropriate
  • Processing validation routines and investigating reasons for failed validation within Systems Link.
  • Adhoc tasks as and when required including supporting with validation tasks.

  • Competent using IT systems including Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Competent in writing reports, articles and presenting self in front of an audience

Benefits

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: Up to £28,000 DOE
