Stores Person

We are recruiting a Stores Person to join our team at Story Decorating Group based at our head office in Carlisle.

Typically providing support to the wider Northwest region and other locations such as:

•        Edinburgh

•        Glasgow

•        Dumfries & Galloway

•        Cumbria

•        Greater Manchester

•        Merseyside 

This role is ideal for someone who is organised and can take responsibility for delivering materials to our sites, working in our offsite spray paint facility and basic maintenance of equipment.

As the role requires travel, a driving licence is essential (Van and Fuel Card provided for business use only). You will also need a FLT Licence or willing to undertake a FLT training to be considered for the role.

• Assisting in the offsite spray paint facility (training will be provided)
• Maintaining/basic repairing of equipment (training will be provided)
• PAT testing (training will be provided)
• Face fit testing (training will be provided)
• Ordering and issuing equipment and supplies
• Dealing with vehicles including service records
• Keeping all stores and yards, a clean, tidy and safe working environment

• General maintenance of equipment
• Organisational skills
• Experience in stock taking
• H&S knowledge
• Communication skills
• Information technology skills
• Counterbalance FLT licence

• General maintenance of equipment either personally or arranging contractors, maintaining records
• PAT testing of electrical equipment
• Issue of equipment and supplies to staff
• Service check returned items
• Manage a small number of plant items
• Stock take
• Correct disposal of waste
• Occasional delivery of equipment to sites
• To promote best practice in maintaining high levels of Health and Safety
• Undertake such other duties that are required from time to time commensurate with this position.

• 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
