ABOUT IMPROVE

Improve International was established in 1998 by a group of veterinary surgeons from across the UK. We run Continuous Professional Development training from veterinary professionals to help develop the skills and knowledge required in practice. 

Our programmes utilise a combination of review lectures, case-based discussion and, where applicable, hands-on practical sessions. Within Improve we also have the function of ‘The International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ISVPS)’. This function is dedicated to providing veterinary surgeons, nurses and technicians with high quality, achievable qualifications that are recognised internationally. 

JOB PURPOSE

The role ensures the smooth organization and delivery of both on-site and online for med.vet. Symposia. This includes handling logistics, coordinating speaker, and managing follow-up tasks. The position serves as a key link between management, speakers, partners, and participants, ensuring program quality and maintaining the company’s reputation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparation and follow-up of on-site symposia, creation of scripts, sending of information emails
  • Organization of hotels, catering, speaker/team travel arrangements
  • Preparation and follow-up of web symposia, creation of scripts, uploading multiple-choice questions, sending information emails, editing recordings, and publishing them online
  • Publishing symposia in all relevant calendars (German/Austrian Veterinary Journal, Thieme Verlag, etc.)
  • Office organization
  • Participation in and contribution to team meetings
  • Support and coordination of existing symposia by arrangement (maximum of 4 per year, primarily in Kevelaer and NRW)
  • Contacting and maintaining relationships with university professors, departmental staff, and specialist veterinarians to recruit them as lecturers/speakers/workshop leaders
  • Monitoring and documenting competitors’ activities for new and traditional symposia
  • Participation in meetings with industry partners such as B. Braun and Vet Shop Brandenburg
  • Attending congresses at the symposium booth
  • Training new colleagues in the symposium philosophy and systems
  • Telephone consultation with veterinary colleagues regarding symposium content, including research on whether these are suitable for beginners or for colleagues/TFA (veterinary assistants) already familiar with the subject matter

REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience:

  • Background in administration, event coordination, or a similar role
  • Experience in managing logistics for events or webinars is an advantage

 

Skills:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in digital tools and platforms
  • Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and tasks under tight deadlines

 

Other:

  • Flexible and proactive working approach
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Fluency in German and good command of English (written and spoken) preferred
