Business Development Manager

  • Full-time

About the Position

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth for Origin Robotics by identifying and closing new business opportunities and by deepening relationships with existing partners and customers. This role owns the commercial side of the sales cycle - from first outreach through contract signing - and works closely with the Operations team to ensure a smooth handoff into execution, compliance, and delivery.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships, closing deals, and representing cutting-edge technology to customers in the defence and security space.

What You'll Do:

  • Identify, engage, and develop new business opportunities through proactive outreach to prospective customers and partners in the defence, security, and robotics sectors.
  • Own and grow relationships with existing partners, acting as their primary commercial point of contact.
  • Lead the full sales cycle - prospecting, qualification, negotiation, and closing - to consistently meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Coordinate and support customer product demonstrations and events, working closely with the Sales Operations, Customer Success, and Engineering teams to ensure they run smoothly and professionally.
  • Develop and execute account and territory strategies aligned with company growth goals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of pipeline, deals, and customer interactions.
  • Partner with Sales Operations to ensure signed deals are translated into clear, actionable plans and that all commercial documentation (contracts, quotations, purchase orders) is accurate and compliant.
  • Represent Origin Robotics at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in B2B sales or business development, preferably in a manufacturing, technology, defence, or engineering-driven environment.
  • A track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and deal-closing targets.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage both technical and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort presenting to senior stakeholders and clients.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, demonstrations, and industry events.
  • High ownership, a proactive mindset, and the ability to manage multiple deals and priorities simultaneously.

What We Offer:

  • The opportunity to work on defence robotics systems that are deployed in real-world environments and matter to those who rely on them.
  • Interesting technical challenges and work on complex engineering problems.
  • Work on best-in-class products that compete internationally, alongside leading experts in the field.
  • The chance to own your work from development through to field deployment.
  • Opportunities to learn, grow and develop while working with modern technologies.
  • Health insurance.
