With our headquarters in Gloucester, Direct Online Services is a dynamic and progressive eCommerce-led omnichannel retailer of kitchen products. Founded in 2009, we have enjoyed strong levels of profitable growth since inception, primarily through our flagship brand Worktop Express, the UK’s #1 online worktop retailer selling over 220,000 worktops per year to our B2C consumer base.

 

The business recently joined the €1bn+ global materials division of Broadview Holding (alongside Formica, Westag, Trespa, Arpa and Homapal), and are now looking to invest towards the future. We have significant plans to accelerate our growth over the coming years domestically and internationally, in existing and new product categories, both within Direct Online Services and also in collaboration with our Group colleagues.

Job Purpose

The Business Development Manager will play a vital role in driving our B2B worktop sales growth within their assigned region. This role focuses on a dual approach: proactively identifying and acquiring high-value new business customers, while strategically developing and retaining our existing accounts (specifically those spending £5k+ annually). The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, target-driven sales professional with a proven track record of pipeline management, excellent relationship building, and effective commercial negotiation.

This role holds a salary of up to £48,000 depending on experience with OTE of £72,000.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within your region.
  • Proactively build a strong sales pipeline to exceed revenue and acquisition targets.
  • Maintain strong customer relations to retain customers
  • Effect use of marketing assets, taking ownership for the cost to serve of your customers
  • CRM management in Salesforce maintained minimum weekly
  • You will be responsible for customers spending at least £10k per year with smaller customers supported by an inside sales team.


What You’ll Be Measured On (Key Performance Indicators)

  • Revenue: Deliver a sales target selling B2B Worktops
  • Identify and acquire new customers: Onboard at least 10% new customers (by count) per year with at least 50% spending. Achieve 10% of revenue from new customers each year.
  • Grow existing customers: Average growth of retained customers 10% revenue per annum through any means: share of wallet, repeat orders, AOV growth
  • Retention: Ensuring revenue from existing customers YoY is at least 90% of prior year
  • Ownership of marketing cost: (samples, marketing assets, displays, rebates) ensuring assets meet target ROI expectation
  • Activity: Minimum of 12 customer visits per week
