We are looking for a Debt Collection Strategy Manager to join Eleving Group who will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the development and execution of recovery strategies across seven countries. This role is instrumental in driving performance by identifying operational gaps, designing tailored strategies, and ensuring their effective implementation in diverse markets. It requires deep expertise in debt collection, recovery processes, performance analysis, and risk controls, with a hands-on approach to tracking results and initiating immediate corrective actions when necessary.

What you will do:

Strategic Oversight & Development

  • Drive the continuous evolution of debt collection and recovery strategies across countries, tailored to specific trends, portfolio compositions, and regulatory contexts of each market.
  • Monitor daily and monthly performance metrics to identify underperformance, process inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Propose and validate segmented collection approaches (e.g., by DPD bucket, customer type, risk level).

Operational Support

  • Provide daily support and guidance to local collection teams, ensuring alignment with HUB strategy while maintaining local flexibility.
  • Evaluate country-level practices and optimize workflows, contact strategies, messaging, and channel utilization (e.g., calls, SMS, WhatsApp, and other digital tools).
  • Facilitate the implementation of best practices and high-impact initiatives across countries.

Performance Monitoring & Action Planning

  • Track and interpret daily collection results, alert stakeholders promptly, and implement rapid response plans when KPIs deviate.
  • Conduct root cause analyses for strategy underperformance or process non-compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with the Operational Support Manager and MIS team to maintain a comprehensive overview and provide support from all angles.

What you will need:

Must-Have Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in debt collection and recovery strategy within financial services, fintech, or consumer lending.
  • In-depth knowledge of the end-to-end recovery process, from early collections to legal/post-legal recovery.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to derive insights from operational and performance data.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage action plans and drive performance improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills to drive change across distributed teams.
  • A problem-solving mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo and introduce innovative, pragmatic solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple country-level needs and timelines effectively.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with dialer systems and digital contact strategies.
  • Previous work with cross-country or regional portfolios and the ability to adapt strategies to diverse market needs.
