Sr Procurement Specialist

The company focuses on utility-scale solar and energy storage projects in the 200 MW to 500 MW range in the U.S. We’ve successfully developed 90 projects in the US from greenfield site selection to commercial operation.  The Company currently has a large advanced stage pipeline of projects which require completion in 2027 and beyond.

The Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing and executing various advanced activities relating to the company's sourcing and procurements of engineered equipment, materials, subcontracts, and/or services. This position will assist in all tactical and strategic procurement and subcontracts activities, including market research, supplier analysis, selection strategy, final negotiation, and construction and operations turnover.  

Specific Job Responsibilities

• Ensure Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Scopes of Work (SOWs) and Master Purchase Agreements, if applicable, are positioned appropriately before business is initiated.
• Develop and enhance supplier relationships while identifying strategic suppliers.
• Prepare and issue Requests for Proposal (RFP) documents. Solicit and obtain proposals from suppliers and subcontractors, negotiate commercial exceptions, and follow through to completion of the purchase of the assigned equipment, materials, subcontracts, and services using a best value analysis.
• Lead the bid evaluation and selection process with project teams and demonstrate advanced capabilities associated with analyzing and evaluating.
• Manages the award and conforming process. 
• Files documents in strict accordance with the department filing procedure. 
• Monitor project procurement goals, budgets and schedules for assigned procurements. Report to management on a weekly or as needed basis.
• Support the resolution of issues with appropriate input from legal and project management to mitigate risk for the projects and the company.
• Monitor supplier and subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with executed agreements. Act as liaison between external suppliers and subcontractors and the company. 
• Lead the solicitation and evaluation of indicative RFPs in order to support estimating efforts.
• Provide advance guidance on procurement processes and best sourcing strategies to enable the avoidance of procurement risks while maximizing cost efficiencies.
• Engage and assist in other procurement activities as needed. 

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Construction Management, and/or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience preferred
• Prior experience in the Solar market is highly preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Proficient problem solving
• Strong attention to detail
• Basic understanding of scheduling and project management

This position will involve minimal travel.  Most travel will be a day or two for a site visit or a meeting.
