Description

YKDFN Housing Division is seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of the organization. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.


Key Responsibilities


Financial Record Keeping

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions
  • Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll activities
  • Ensure proper filing and documentation of financial records


General Ledger Management

  • Post and reconcile journal entries
  • Maintain and balance general ledger accounts
  • Ensure financial information is complete and accurate


Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Provide reports and supporting documentation for management and board review
  • Assist with budget tracking and financial analysis as required


Compliance & Audit Support

  • Ensure compliance with federal, territorial, and municipal financial regulations and guidelines
  • Maintain organized records and supporting documents for audits
  • Assist with preparation and coordination of external audits


Financial Administration

  • Respond to financial inquiries
  • Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and partners regarding billing or account discrepancies
  • Support other finance and administrative duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related field
  • Relevant certifications or equivalent work experience will be considered


Experience

  • Minimum 2–3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Experience working in a non-profit organization is considered an asset


Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage 50, or similar platforms
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
